Keep in mind that you have to, at least partially, drop the axle to get the over-the-axle-whoopdee-whoos of the tailpipes in and out.

    ah yeah thats right :/

Ill see if one of our family friends who just opened a shop can let me use his lift.

.....or I could instead have the exhaust exit the side in front of the rear tire. wonder whether that would work or not.

    Ehh.
It's not that difficult to drop it. Some say that you can get it through with just the shocks disconnected. But if that doesn't work you can disconnect the control arms. Pretty straight forward job, really.
I'd just bite the bullet and drop the axle. If you put it out the side you'll get carbon monoxide inside the cabin when you're stopped with the engine running.

yeah but it would probably take me a few days due to me having to probably get help from my stepfather who doesn't have much time, and me not knowing enough about working on my car. I could definitely figure it out, but I need transportation to and from work still in the mean time. I have looked at our salvage yards too, and all of the grand marquis there had y-pipes, and the only p71 there was an 05 the was t-boned pretty bad. Idk i may try it i may not. As of now I am fairly happy with the single pipe with the flowmaster 40 on it now. I

Did you check with an ammeter that something isnt draining it.

Wiring short would still stay in effect when turned off.

Well lets see so I have ford excursion 2000 v10 6.8l has been modified to have just under 405hp but just yesterday in the 9th cylinder it blew the spark plug off which blow the coil on plug right off. Going to need a new head on it. That is what happens with you don't upgrade certain parts after a HP upgrade. Well I guess I learned the hard way. Just built up to much pressure in the cylinder.

Yesterday I installed dashcam at last. Required soldering a secondary 12v outlet into the back of the stereo harness.

Was going to run off of the heated seat harness as the power distribution board in my car is populated for it but I dont have the heated seat option installed on the car, couldnt get a fuse tap/piggyback fuse for it though or any tools in there to remove the fusebox and tap into the back of the circuitboard directly.

Instead measured the load on the 12v switched line to the stereo, about 0.2A as the stereo comes on dropping to 0.1A while its on. That line is rated for 7.5A, camera requires 1A. So, splice casing of wire off, tap positive line for a lighter socket I bought on amazon into it, ground into the ground line of the harness while I was at it. Sure enough works fine. Turn ignition on, dashcam comes on, stereo comes on. Turn ignition off, dashcam turns off, stereo turns off.

I would have just piggybacked the existing 12v socket, but thats a permanent live in a focus, I need accessory power/switched only.

The second socket is quite conveniently hidden in the empty space behind the glovebox, also found a gap in the trim so I can run dashcam power cable from the window pillar, around edge of dash (tucked into a gap), under glovebox, through the hole and to the socket. Cable is basically out of the way the entire way around and no plug in the way.

Finally got around to doing some work on the Camaro. It's been sitting in my moms garage since fall, and shes been giving me crap about it every time we meet for a holiday or family gathering.
The car was covered top to bottom with spider webs and bugs and the moldy interior had remained completely sealed for months so the smell hit me like a brick when i opened the door. Unsurprisingly the battery was dead but after a charge the engine turned over great. Started and ran great :). I changed the oil and checked hoses, fluids, and suspension, everything looks good, although the steering rack assembly is very loose, even by 80's GM standards ;).

Next on the list is to put new bushings on the drivers door, maybe both doors depending on difficulty. Also I will need to address the many panel alignment issues that this car has, particularly with the left front fender. Then some minor body work, weather stripping, and paint.
Below are 2 pics. taken from just behind the front wheel, after some measuring I concluded that both silver side skirts on each side of the car are absolutely identical as well as the hood width, however their are some differences in the length of the front fenders. The left fender is slightly longer than the right which results in the side skirt not meeting up with the edge correctly as visible in the 2nd pic. The left fender also rubs up against the hood and the inner fender holes do not line up accurately to the left fender. These findings seem to suggest that the left fender is a reproduction. I tried looking for a part # to further prove this theory but couldn't find one. I don't think moving the fender is going to help, its just not the correct fit. So unfortunately I'm either going to have to make due with the fender i have now and just grind the side to make room for the hood, or buy a new panel. I'm not really exited about either option.

Stripped the red one, it is now ready to go to scrap tomorrow. It'll be sad to see it go, but I've taken all of the good/useful bits off and it's body is too far gone to restore.

Got the shifter mechanism almost out, just to remove on of the shift rods from the transmission, insert new bushings, and reinstall. Will make a before/after vid.

Dodge Smoke Stack Lightning vs Veloster, what engine wins in a race of the revolutions ? Will your Dodge pull a higher top end red line in reality before the Veloster must come down?

Well from smoke stacks, the dodge is a diesel, it may be a torque monster but it will not rev for shit. Chances are the dodge would be lifted and fitted with huge wheels because murica. The wheels will reduce acceleration, it will need to shift sooner thanks to lower red line. It will top out at a lower speed too.

Quarter mile. Veloster wins. Dodge would probably only win a 50 metre sprint at most.
