    Hi.

Couple of weeks ago, my BeamNG started to lag and I got no idea at all why. I tried to reinstall the game but this didn't help. On high settings I only get 30 fps, and I believe that's quite low for my specs, and that I use to have locked 60 fps before.

    Specs:
    Intel Core i7-4790
MSI GeForce GTX 960 2GB PhysX CUDA

Lemme know if you need more info.

To know if it's the CPU or GPU side. If you press J to stop simulation, your FPS goes back to normal?
Did you check if you graphical settings are the same as before?

When I pause the game (J), fps stays at the same.

I'm pretty sure the settings were as they were before, as even with "low" settings, I get 40-50 fps. With the specs above, shouldn't I be able to play with high?

Please try the latest hotfix 0.4.0.2 and see if the problem persists.

I have same issue, I have GTX 770, and [I have FPS Limiter on] the game should be running around 60fps for me even with higher settings with normal lighting and low mesh detail

However I have to run at normal settings and even turn HDR off which is the only PostFX setting I enjoy using in-game.

in scenarios the game seems to stutter-lag more often and run a considerable loss of frame-rate.

I can't even play the rally stage 2 without lowering the settings further to the point of removing dynamic reflections.

    I have an I5 3570k @ 3.8ghz

    [Running 0.4.0.2]

Same problem here. i7-4720HQ, GTX 980M. 60 FPS on medium, anywhere from 17-30 fps on high.

as of my last post I was actually running 0.4.0.1 now I have the latest

Performance is improved, however stutter lag doesn't improve over the first few actions all the time like it used to.

    Breaking windshield and/or lights
    Brake lights
    Crashing
    Ect

Inside scenarios stutter lag is imminent for the majority of the time.

Looks like a serious thing with performance happened. Myself too I'm experiencing a bit lower FPS (not too much), but way more evident stutters (which I hadn't before) :(

It seems we are all having the same problem not so much of a fps drop, but more evident stutters like you said.

For me the biggest problem is the FPS drops.

Can someone confirm I should be able to run at high with my specs?

Same CPU (K version), and 970. High shouldn't be much an issue, as I play with it.
It's a bug that more and more people are reporting. Something fishy happened. Investigation happening..

What about a 980M and a 4720HQ? The 980M seems like it should be enough, can anybody confirm? I know the CPU is sufficient to some extent, as I have no problem achieving over 60 fps when on low settings.

Same here. In version 0.3.8.3 (and all the ones before) I had smooth 60 fps on nearly every map, everything maxed out and now I have constant slow 30 fps even on grid map!

    i5-2500k @ 4.5 Ghz
    16 GB RAM
    GTX 670
    BeamNG is on an SSD.

Always worked fine but regardless of the new features of 0.4.0.(2), which are really great, the performance got a massive decrease :(

It seems that dynamic reflections are responsible for the fps drop... When turning them off/on I lose 20-30 fps, and adjusting the quality settings only lets me regain four or five.

    I can confirm this.

SSAO and Dynamic Reflections halve the fps! This wasn't the case before.
If one or both of them are activated, I get 30 fps.

If I press "J" to pause the physics my FPS go straight to 60 fps again. Thats curious, because it would mean that SSAO and the Dynamic Reflections are getting calculated by the CPU instead of the GPU.

    Devs, is this the case???

I know, that I had SSAO and Dynamic Reflections activated in 0.3.8.3 and had always 60fps, not only if I pause physics.

Would be nice to get a patch here soon :)
