You will have to edit the default ground-models, but I really suggest you not to mess with them if you don't want to break something :)

But if you really want, you can find them here: BeamNG.drive\lua\common\groundmodel.lua

Any of them, depending on what you want to achieve. Again, I highly suggest you NOT to do that. It will potentially break your game with the next updates (especially with races). I've warned you.

If you can't figure out what each of those options means then you should probably take the hint and leave them alone. Especially since they have already said that it may break the game in future updates if you do.

I'm not much into these things (for the reason that editing that will potentially break your game at a certain point), but I guess you can find out from the names. I mean, those seems pretty clear.

I've messed around with the ground models, and Nadeox is right, if you mess with something you don't know, you will get crazy results.

Anyway, I have modded my ground models so that mud is significantly deeper. In groundmodels.lua (C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/BeamNG.drive/lua/), under the ground model titled mud, change g.DefaultDepth to around 0.04. That's enough to sink in quite a few inches, and the increased depth will also increase the simulated viscosity and whatnot, so it will behave like real deep mud. You shouldn't change anything else, it will most likely cause tires to explode or strange handling.

Its probably worth creating a backup of that file if you do modify any of the files so that you can switch back to the default values easily if you need to without having to reinstall the game.

Just copy and paste it in the same location and rename the extension of one of them to .bak so you know it is a backup. Then you can modify the other safe in the knowledge you still have the original if you need it.

Also, if you keep that modified groundmodel, I suppose your racing times (for when online leaderboards will be a thing, will get un-validated because of that)
