Problems with installation: "Fatal Error"

I cannot install the game. For whatever reason, it just doesn't get past updating the game. I have a screen shot of what seems to be the problem, and hopefully there is a fix. It gets a fatal error saying it cannot read the "./update.exe" and is unable to continue afterwards.

 

I have a picture of the logs of the installation process. If anyone can help, please do.

 

I had that problem too, turns out I had disabled the Application Experience service. Press Start and type 'services' and choose the first one. There right-click on Application Experience and choose properties and set the Startup type to Automatic.

 

Just cancel the updater when it asks for a serial and update manually

 

I tried all of your suggestions. None of them worked. Either it stops at the beginning of the update, or sometimes it gets to about 14 mb into the update, and just stops and says it cannot open the writing for the file "./update.exe" and it ceases there. I'm just not sure what I can do to fix this, I spent 15 dollars on this game which I have been following for the better part of 2 years, and I can't seem to play it now

 

Try disabling your antivirus or User Account Control.

 

Hi, found others with this problem too

Worked for me, when I added update.exe from the install folder to exceptions in my Avira Real-Time Protection, just disabling the antivirus didn't seem to help.
