Disabling Dynamic Steering

    I can't find an option anywhere in the UI for disabling the new dynamic steering for keyboard. I was used to the normal steering, but the dynamic steering feels slow. I can't drive like I used to. Anyone know how to disable it, or at least speed up the steering?

    Dynamic Steering for keyboard is not 'customizable' yet.

    "Hello, currently it is not possible to deeply customize the filtering. However, you can choose between 4 high level presets of filtering: "auto", "key", "pad", and "direct". It is always recommended to leave it as "auto", but if you really want to try, and risk the damaging your vehicle suspension beams, then you can switch to any of the other filters. Direct is almost unfiltered, which means most unrealistic (for keyboard/gamepad), and more prone to damage the vehicle.
    To do that, just click on any assigned control (in the Controls menu), and look for the filtering type, on the right."

    Wow, you updated the game to a point where it s unplayable on keyboard. I hoped it is fixed soon :confused:

    Because being able to turn the steering lock to lock in 0.2 milisecond is totally reasonable and realistic.
    If you said above me and stenyak said it's not 'Currently'. It's on the ToDo list to make it customizable from the end user :)

    I can´t see any filtering options in the Controls menu when i click on an assigned key (f.e. "W" for driving forwards). I wouldn´t bother me if it had been working.

    You can't see the other posts apparently...
    Filtering options for keyboard aren't in yet. Adjustment is for gamepad only *at this time*. It will come in future.
    Or you can get used to more realistic steering.

    In the next update it will be possible to set the filtering type, e.g. "direct", for all kinds of controls (not just for axes like now).
    Though you will probably still prefer the existing "auto" filtering, which prevents the car from going full lock in a split second and therefore getting understeer everywhere... anyway, keep in mind that it's a work in progress :)

    Thx for now. But the game will be unplayable untill the next update. It s a bit like the idea to move all the mods to c:// :mad:

    Move them back then. A few guides exist on how. startup.ini in the games install folder explains all.

    So it s patched now, and it is possible to choose from filter methods. Unfortunately it doesn´t change anything about the broken steering. In "Auto" Mode it takes years to steer from left to right. The other methods are simply buggy and unusable. When will we get the old steering back. Typical case of "verschlimmerbessert" :p.

    The current steering speed was adjusted to be as near as what a normal person can achieve when turning the steering wheel.
    The old steering was simply too fast. It went from lock to lock in about 1 second, and made driving from the interior camera pretty dizzy.

    I believe that let the user set the speed of the steering is on the ToDo list.

    Thx. And i admit driving it like that i higher speeds felt more stable after some testing. Maybe the steering lock could be dynamically adapted according to the driven speed? I am no mechanic, but isn ´t like that on real cars?


    and btw: LOVE the sandbox freeroam. got almost 100 hours on playing on the steam version which nothing compared to the previous version :)
