Most times at 20%, most I've gotten is 55% with few cars spanwed crashing together. On an 8 core cpu. Also frames drop drasticly when I spawn more cars. From 90 to 15 with 4-5 cars compared to 1.
An AMD 8 core? That's your reason if so. Those CPU's are seriously bad in any game. I used to have one until I switched to an i5-4670k
GTX 760 It gets 30% usage and no frame difference between lowest/high settings. This and Arma III are the only games that get below 30 fps maxed out with this CPU.
That means the CPU is bottlenecking the machine... As the GPU can run the same on low to high settings, the CPU is the one that cannot handle the calculations, and holding back your machine. Simple as that. The last time i used AMD was back in the Athlon times, so im not familiar with the newer AMDs, but im sure there is somekind of tweak to make it go nice and smooth
Really? Just don't do that. He isn't saying that it is just poor frame rates, he is saying it seems like he could get more because his CPU isn't maxed out. And they aren't "horrible in any game", I have found them to be just below i5 3570k's in most multi-core optimized games. (Like DRIVE) ROR has just started using more than two threads but due to some limitations of that engine it isn't very optimized for AMD. DRIVE is 100% different from ROR but it still might not be AMD friendly, and it really loves fast RAM. I was helping out a friend that has a i7 3770k @ 4.0ghz and he was getting fine fps, but his CPU wasn't maxed out (I think it was around 50% usage?) He already had RAM in the mail and it got here today, it is 16GB 2133, and his CPU usage went up and he gets better frame rates.
You mean 2 or 4 more GB? I think it probably stops getting much improvement past 2133, but I haven't tested that. 1600 is plenty fast so I would just get 4 more GB of that same ram. It runs fine on my 1033 RAM, just not as fast as it could. I am looking into this RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231486 because my mobo only uses 1333 max. Try the 1600 version of that. Sorry for PC chat!
I have measured CPU usage with multiple cars on my i5 2500K @4Ghz: 1 car: 39% (fps +60) 2 cars: 60% (fps +60) 3 cars: 80% (fps 50-60) 4 cars: 85% (fps 25-30)
I have a 2600k at 4.4ghz and 2 overclocked 7970s in xfire and only get 60fps at 1080p when i have a single car in a collision, other than that its much lower (mid 40s, and on maps like the cliff map, more like 20). My cpu usage is only 30-40% and seems to be quite sparratic. The game is still fine to play but it seems like there is still some optimization to be done by the devs on how the game takes advantage of 8 threads. .
