Please!!, I beg of you.. if this can be implemented, I will buy alpha and donate and forever play this game! Currently I am playing demo and I just can't get tired of crashing. It's never the same!! ^_^
It is implemented, but disabled for now as it crashed on exit. Once we fixed this bug, we will re-enable it
THANK YOU SIR! I will definately read up and contribute! Cheers~ =) - - - Updated - - - Ahhh cheers~!
anyone know if the rift has been re-implemented into the game yet i just got the dk2 recently and love it and i think the rift+beamng would be amazing
Just discovered this game via Steam suggestions and was very disappointed by the lack of Oculus Rift support. My luck is that I tried to search before buy. I have OR as already more than 100k users around the world. An I don't really understand why in summer of 2015 there is no support of that. While Euro Truck Simulator 2 has updates in its oculus_* branch every week other developers don't worry about potential sales. Just imagine that only half (50k) will buy your game because of OR support (as I did) and you can spend only 1$ per copy to support OR. How much will it cost? $10k? $20k? Very doubtful. You'll get $50k! Now I'm looking at any game from the OR-enabled perspective view. If game does not support OR - it isn't worth money spent. Especially driving games. What a bummer.
Oculus Rift is leaving DX9 games behind.. http://steamcommunity.com/app/284160/discussions/0/35221584327863633/#p2 https://forums.oculus.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=19489 It's impossible to implement it if they are not giving any support :\ *Personal opinion* On another side, the Oculus Rift users are a very small %. I'm not really sure if people would like to see development focus on that just to please that % while the rest will just stay there looking.. (At least, not for the moment, IMO) Anyway, it's not more possible now for the reasons above. Also because a Oculus Rift totally determines if a game is worth money or not..
maaboo, try to put things in a realistic perspective. This is an early access game in the early stages of development. The developers have implemented VR support and have disabled it until they can dedicate time to resolve some issues. VR support is not a modern requirement for games, it is an optional extra. It is of course your preference and that is fine but suggesting the game isn't worth the money is just silly. Search the forum, read the posts, realise VR is supported and then wait patiently till the small team of developers have time to resolve the couple of bugs it was causing. Meanwhile they are improving the whole game and adding content to make the whole experience a solid and worthwhile one for all users.
It didn't stop SCS Software. DX9 is almost 8 years old. Why should modern devices ever support it? If Ilon Musk thought about % (I suspect he has less than 1% of overall car sales even in US) he never went beyond prototyping. As I said at least half of those who bought DK2 (50k users!) can buy a game just now, giving developer the money to continue developing. Since simple VR support can be done by one programmer (look for "Parking Simulator") it sounds really weird. - - - Добавлено - - - I agreed you year ago, but not now. Things are changing more rapidly. The early bird catches the worm. I have limited budget on games. If someone will develop a VR game earlier I'll buy it first. All others have to wait.
