Hi, I just puchased BeamNG and, like the other posts, it's unplayable. I get 6-7 FPS when I drive but 60 when i press J or sitting still. I have EVERYTHING turned off, no dynamic reflections, no AA and nothing changes. No post processing effects either and graphics set to LOWEST.

I can play Project Cars, Medieval Engineers, FSX all with no problem and super high frame rates.. Why can't I play Beam.NG? :(
I can tell this is the game I've been looking for forever. Please help me fix it!

    My computer specs are:

    Windows 7 64 bit
    Intel Core I7 2600
    8 gigs of ram
Nvidia GTX580 with the latest drivers

I hope you can help me.
    Thanks

It seems like there are a few others who are experiencing a problem similar to this. Nobody's found a fix yet, since it isn't all that common, but you might try following this thread as well to see if anything comes of it: http://www.beamng.com/threads/14126-6FPS-since-latest-update

In the meantime, I'd recommend doing a lot of further testing to help us figure out what's wrong, if we can. Check CPU/GPU temps, mess with the options more if you can, reinstall, and test further on different maps with different vehicles to see if that changes anything.

Sorry I can't really help. Just throwing a few things out there that might help.

Can you check your CPU usage while you play (make the task manager windows always visible, and check that while you are playing BeamNG)?

I'll jump in on this one since I have a very similar rig:

    I7 2600k @ 4.0ghz
    8gb RAM DDR3
    AMD Radeon HD 7850 2gb
    Windows 7 64 bit

And BeamNG runs smoothly here, the only problem being dynamic reflections. They're a serious FPS killer (and doesn't even look good IMO).
With dynamic ref. off and rest of the settings at max, it runs perfect for me.

Okay I will read more posts to see if I can find anything. I will also mess around with the settings, but I tried different cars on different tracks and it was the same. I'll test more settings today.

Yeah, I dont have dynamic reflections or anything else turned on. I dunno what it is???

    - - - Updated - - -

Okay, I will check that today for sure! Thanks for helping me.

Hi Nadeox, I started BeamNG and opened usage panel. My CPU usage is a constant 14-18% when driving. Temps on graphics card and CPU are low. I did notice one thing however, and that is, while driving straight on the open track with no scenery, FPS's are around the 60 mark. AS SOON AS I TURN the wheel, they drop down to 6-9 FPS. What's that about???? It's like turning the vehicle drops the FPS. I dunno why??

Hi Cbrider, I replied to Nadeox, but I'm not sure my replys are posting for everyone, so I'll post here again. I started BeamNG and opened usage panel. Hi Jack Attak. CPU usage is 14%-18%,. CPU and graphics card temps are low. I told Nadeox about turning the vehicle and that seems to drop the FPS down to single digits. I hope this helps. If nothing works, I'll try reinstalling. :/

I'm not sure, but it can be something about running the game with a nvidia GPU. I have an AMD GPU and it runs well...

A bit clueless on what's happening there. It's not normal that your FPS drop that massively just by turning.
You can help us to check what's going on by following this:

    Download this program:
    http://wj32.org/processhacker/rel/processhacker-2.35-bin.zip
    And extract it anywhere.

Run BeamNG.Drive, then open that program by running the 'ProcessHacker.exe' in the x64 folder if you have a 64bit OS, or x86 if you have a 32bit OS.
You should see something like this:
    qvhtAZW.jpg

Search for BeamNG.Drive by scrolling down on the list. You should see something similar to this:
    Gmd4oy7.jpg

Double click where it says 'BeamNG.drive.x64.exe' (or BeamNG.drive.x86.exe, depending on your OS)
You should see a window with various tabs. Go in the 'Threads' tab, you should end up with something like this.
    pEYGe6Z.jpg
Click on the CPU thing to show the list on CPU-Load order.

Now you have to resize the BeamNG window so you can see both BeamNG and that window at the same time, like this:
    B8w9brY.jpg

Now play normal, and as soon you see your FPS drop down massively, check if anything changed in the 'list'.
Normally the CPU usage of the various item should go up or down by a little.
But if you see some big changes when you get the FPS drop (ex. some activity suddenly taking much more CPU or something), take note of the 'Start Address' name (eventually make a screenshot of the window).

Additionally, you can attach your game logs (Documents / BeamNG.Drive / 'torque3d.log') to your post so we can have a look if there is something weird happening.

    Can you please repost them?
Or at least, have you seen anything drastically changing as soon your FPS dropped?

Hi Nadeox! Nothing drastically changed under the CPU tab with the Process Hacker. After doing some research, I think the issue is CPU throttling. I have a Dell xps 8300 and they did something weird with the CPU on that model. My speed fan wont work either. I think this is the issue! I'm going to get another computer at any rate because mine is getting old now and can't play the new games that great anyway. Thanks for helping me however!!! You guys are great!

P.s. The only thing I'd really really really like to see implemented is crash test dummies you can put in any car you want. I know there's 'Stig', but you can only put him in the truck. A family of crash test dummies would be GREAT!!!!!

It was related to FFB then. There was a bug were FFB was activated on certain keyboards, and made FPS drop instantly. Glad it works now.
