Update: FAILED to create user game path

    I am running Windows 6.3 (a.k.a. 8.1) and am unable to update BeamNG.

    • My account user redirected folders, meaning that "Documents" is stored on the server.
    • %Documents% points to a UNC path.

    IMHO, storing game files in any users' "Documents" is an embuggerance. People often have documents in their Documents folder, and having all sort of application and games store files there makes everything very messy...

    Can you sendme a private msg with torque3d.log file? we need more information to solve this problem.

    You can change the path of the user folder, check startup.ini in the game folder.

    Sure, but the only log file in the steamapps-folder is from a folder called "unknown_files_user_backup.0.3.8.3" dated February 2015...

    Where should I look?

    And therein lies the problem. I do not have any BeamNG.drive folder in "My Documents", because that folder is on a UNC path... No folder = no files = no log = no update.

    BUT: The solution was opening Steam to do an update. No more update nags from the game!
