I don't want to get slammed for being a complete moron, but perhaps that is what I will have to endure to get to update this game. I love this game and think is phenomenal however it has been quite a long time since I have been able to play it (or any game for that matter).

I haven't updated since the updates went to the Steam system, which I am completely unfamiliar with. The last update system I am familiar with was when you would update from the site and open the .exe file. I am clueless how steam works, or if I would have to create a membership with Steam (which I don't have a desire to do). Is there a write up on how to update my old version, which is currently 0.3.0.5, to the newest version? Is there a way to update without using Steam?

    Thank you,

    Wow... 0.3.0.5.

    it's been a looooooong time

Anyway, while I would say Steam is the best option as it will automatically download updates, and it's not a piece of garbage like Origin or Uplay, there's an installer download for those who don't want steam.

Current version is 0.4.0.6, but you can download 0.4.0.2 which is only a few bugfixes and UI tweaks different from current version.

Make sure to uninstall your current install of BeamNG before installing the new one.

Steam is pretty simple, I'd recommend it for the user experience alone, everything you ever wanted for multiplayer, communities, etc. is there.

It's also, unfortunately, a way to burn a hole in your wallet if you ever get caught in a sale.

Thanks for the responses guys. I suppose if this thing is going to continue using steam and they may completely phase out alternative methods of downloads I'll have to use it or stop playing. I have a friend that uses steam and he said he'd be happy to show me the ropes.

    Thanks

You could have network error, or simply have to just manually download the updates from steam.
