The framerate is pretty bad just as it was before. I simply turned off dynamic reflections and doubled the FPS. If I recall, the framerate took a major hit when the shadowed vegetation was introduced. It is absolutely beautiful and realistic but the penalty for such goodness is steep.
Well I have noticed a bug between my grouncover and the dynamic reflection maybe it participate to the fps down?? Personnally I don't use the dynamic reflection, it's nice but I prefer a nice render of the map to DR. And it is hard when you create an open world for having a good framerate, it is a pro job to optimize... I do what I can And you, Aboroath you have a big map too, have you a good framerate? In your map you can also use tree blockers , but it's difficult when you are in a desert...
I'm experimenting with blockers in FH....jury is still out. The desert map has good FPS currently but as usual the thickness of the groundcover I want causes issues. I would REALLY like to have shadowed vegetation but that will certainly kill FPS for sure. Have you looked into LOD and shadow rendering distance values for COS? I'm not really knowledgeable on those but perhaps there is a happy medium?
I don't understand all the time the incidence of setting I.OD and shadows, and I think my new graphique card false my vision of the thing. Maybe I must create my next map with the option setting to the max graphique render , for it can be played for a large kinds of computers config?? But on the official maps of devs, especially the jungle rock Islan, there are some lags too ...
Run perfeclty on my laptop. I'm impress on how detailed and fps friendly this map is. Very nice job you did there sir! merci beaucoup!
The level was missing this so I added it here. Put this info.json file in your canyon of speed folder. To Doullpepper, if unhappy I take down.
It's very nice of you! I have test it, and there are however some mistakes... It is a 4096 * 4096 meters map (my height map is 2048 but I have 2 meters per pixels ) And Doullpepper with 2 LL, and heuuuu... Delvery what does it mean? Sorry I am not english.. Maybe you could explain me a little how to edit an info.json in a Private message? - - - Updated - - - Ok! I have understand how to modified it...
This is pretty. It's pretty laggy too. Is there much scope for improving performance? I'm only getting 12fps with tons of stuttering and input lag with my normal settings that get 40+ on the stock maps. I would love to be able to drive around the map but sadly I have to delete the ground cover and the forest just to be able to move. It's a very sexy looking map though!
I don't know why but there are some config how don't like my map... Me I have 55 fps on average... It is a graphique card problem, just delete groundcover called "small clump" and "medium clump" and you'll be able to drive with a good framerate I think, maybe....
I tried deleting just those but my fps only went up to 20 and as soon as I start to drive it stutters so badly I can't control the car. I even tried reducing the number of elements in each ground cover and disabled shadows on them, but didn't really help. I'm not sure If I understand the FPS window fully, but it tells you how many polygons its rendering. On your map it's rendering around 7000000 polygons at any one time. That's almost double that of East coast usa which is about 4000000. I guess you could adjust all the objects LOD's to drop down in detail sooner, saving valuable polygons on screen at any one time. This would explain why deleting the forest makes the game playable for me I guess. - - - Updated - - - I extracted it with winrar and it worked fine. The problem is the map isn't packed in the usual way and you need to move a few folders around to make it work. iirc, extract the zip, open unzipped folder and grab the folder inside and put it with your other maps. I just put the unzipped folder in at first and it didn't work.
Thats right, 7 000 000 polycount , Ok, try that : * First deactivate in game option "fullscreen" I don't know why but in window mode it is more speed with the same resolution On my PC in any case... * In game option again put meshes quality to normal, it does not change the visual a lot but a lot of poly * And after in the editor deactivate the render of distant landscape, it is a static mesh named "canyonlointain.dae" or delete it : * Normally you are now on average 5000000 polycount
Just hiding that model helped a lot! 40FPs dipping to 28 now and then with much less stuttering. I think the poly count is still a little too high for my system, but its so much more playable now. My PC likes around 3-4 million polys I've noticed. Thanks for taking the time to look in to it
This has got to be the best looking map outside the official ones, and the road layout is excellent to drive around for hours. Too bad it's not properly optimized like the official maps, deleting the "canyonlointain.dae" helped a lot but still is far from being fully playable, frame rate is barely playable. It doesn't have a cube map reflection for those of us who don't like the dynamic reflections turned on. Looks like it works fine for some people, so I guess the frame rate problem it's hardware related. If that's the case I can't complain, my system is a bit old by now. I'm running an i7-2600k @ 4.0ghz with an AMD HD7850 card.
Yes it just the graphique card... Me I'running 50-60 fps with i5-2500k @ 3.3ghz with an nvidia GTX 970
Hey guys, I noticed its a .7z file. For some reason my computer doesn't like it at all. How do you get this to work in the game?
