I read the wiki and It states, you should just be able to plug in and play.

How ever when I used my plug n play kit I get no response, anyone else have this issue and have a fix?

You need a Hard wired XBox 360 controller you can't use a wireless controller with a play and charged kit. I use a hardwired XB 360 controller to play Beam NG it easier than the keyboard hope this helps.

Is it a charger kit for the wireless controller?

Sorry, but those only work for re-charging, not playing on the computer with, regardless the game.

To play on the PC with an xbox controller you need one of the following two

    • Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows
    • Xbox 360 Wired Controller

Edit: Sorry, didn't see the above reply, it was sent while I made mine.

Yes its easier to use A hard wired controller than the keyboard. You can use a wireless controller but need a microsoft wireless receiver hope this helps.

I happen to have a slight problem with my controller. I'm using Ps3 controller, yes, but I'm using a program which tricks my computer to think that it's a Xbox controller. It works in every other game (and I've tried it in multiple games and it works just fine), but here... nothing happens.

You will have to make a custom .input file for your PS3 controller. That I do not know how to do sorry. Try to make a another thread for your question this topic pertains to the xBox 360 Controller. Then maybe the dev's and or the community will answer your question hope this helps.

I have a 3rd party wired 360 controller set up to work with my computer, but it doesn't do anything. Does it have to be a microsoft controller?

I have noticed that the controller needs to be connected to the PC and turned on before you start the game. This is using the wireless one. I guess the same is true for the wired

I plugged in my x360 controller before starting the game, but the game doesnt react to any of the buttons. Is there something i need to do first to get this game to recognize the controller. It works for every other game out there. I hate playing racing games without a controller.

EDIT: I have the controller working now......except steering.

    INB4 "MAKE YOUR OWN THREAD!!!"

Check the input map thread linked above. If it's not an official x360 controller it may need a custom map. Idk if Motioninjoy (google it) works for 3rd party x360 controller... may be worth a try. If you have a PS3 use that controller with Motioninjoy + x360 setting. Hardwired (not wireless) official x360 controllers should be plug and play. Read some threads here as well.... oh and make your own thread next time. : )

Please notice the last post date.
Anyway, try changing the 'linearity' value. You can find it in CONTROLS > Force Feedback tab > Steering (Click on the bind and a new window will appear with that and more options)
