    Hi,

I have been trying to add a spoiler to the Civetta Bolide sports car. I imported the car into 3DS max and added the spoiler. The result is below
    InCad.JPG
I then attached the spoiler to the rear bumper keeping the bumpers original name meaning in theory i would not need to make any modifications to the Jbeam file.

As I exported the model I got this message:
    Export_Warning.JPG
If you can't read that it is as follows :

"While reading or writing a file the following notifications have been raised.
-Warning: Warning: Unknown geometry. Node Component#2_002 will lose its geometric information. The node transforms will be saved.
-Warning: Warning: Unknown geometry. Node Component#2_004 will lose its geometric information. The node transforms will be saved."

I did not get this error message when exporting the model before adding the spoiler.

Ingame the car looks like this
    Ingame.JPG

The spoiler is working as intended however the bumper is now way of to the side of the car. Furthermore, the car was originally facing backwards (pressing accelerate made the mesh move backwards) however this seems to happens with every model i export to .DAE and I fixed it by rotating and re-exporting the mode. the steering wheel and gauges are still not correctly lined up.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Rob

P.s. we really need a modding support section because this section gets spammed with billing errors ect and no one has time to see these threads normally.

I have had some issues but not like your bumper one. but nothing had come of it. To fix the backwards facing car don't rotate it just simply change the 'Axis conversion' - 'Up Axis' to 'Z-up' when exporting. I recommend saving an exporting profile called BeamNG or something alike for fast exporting later on. I think the crux of the issue was you rotating the car before export.

Let us know how you go.

Right now importing and re-exporting a .DAE without messing anything up in the process is pretty much impossible. We will support loading multiple .DAEs soon so you can put your addon parts in a separate file without editing any existing files.

That will be a very welcome update that I'm sure many will welcome.

Fundador, I think I have figured out your issue. Have a look here.

As you can see I have managed to get Gabesters off road wheels to match up alright on the van. Initially they were off axis and rotating around quite oddly. BUT alas I have it sorted now.

In the second picture I have detailed how to fix the issue of bodies being misplaced when in game. Essentially it boils down to not resetting the bodies local coordinate reference to the world coordinate reference.

Let me know if it works for you.

Ahh, so basicly i just have to adjust the pivot point to the centre to make the objects physical point 0,0,0
