Okay so I was just wondering about perhaps making a new sub-forum under each of the showroom sub-forum called "Hall of Fame ____(air, land, sea, maps...)" or something along those lines. The idea here is instead of having all of the vehicles in the forum; introducing a voting system which users can vote a car up and once its reached a certain number of votes it will be added to the "Hall of Fame" meaning that only the best mods will be in there for ease of access to people only wanted high quality mods. This way there won't be so many cars that are WIPs, Cancelled or On Hold. Just the best cars, maps, planes... That have been released. I apologise if there is another thread similar to this one or if I have not explained this well enough, if you have any questions about this, ask away and maybe this will be introduced if the idea recieves enough support.
I thought about that myself, it doesn't necessarily have to be called "Hall of Fame" but something like "Popular". I'm not insisting that my idea is the best and the idea must not change. Idea is subject to change
It would be a good idea to my opinion, in order to make the new Beamng user in the heart of the finest mod production in one click.
Pretty much the whole idea of this, it also makes looking for updates on all of your favorite mods far easier
Really? Did you try all russian mods? Even not russian mods has bad quality. PS: Do you know that bad russian mods is from only one person? I will not name him.
That comment really cracked me up!! seriously LOL! If the motivation for someone to make a mod is to become "popular", then that someone should consider his/her's priorities in life. If anyone creates a mod just to see how popular it becomes, or how many "likes" it gets, then yeah, he should stop doing it. I hope the rating system will come with the repository, will help a lot to newcomers to find high quality content right away, instead of browsing through garbage, and to filter crap from what's worth downloading. Maybe a good idea would be to have and advanced section in the forums where only modders with experience can create posts. Something like SMcars have (seems to be down atm), a section for advanced 3D artists, and another for beginners. Another thing I can think of is to have something like "Developer's choice" section or icon, that only the mods that matches the level of the official vehicles or terrains will get.
I'm of the same idea of him. Modding is done for fun, not for some fictional reputation or internet points. But yeah, you also have a point on the motivation part. But if a mod doesn't get attention it also means something is probably wrong with it.
Yeah , i guess i'm wrong at the "modding for thanks" part . If a mod doesn't get attention , maybe noone knows the car , or other stuff . Well modding is for fun anyways ! @AdR : sorry .
