First off, sorry for bumping this thread, but IMO it's better than starting a new one. hope you all agree. I already own 3 RCs. One is pretty small, I forgot the scale (1:15 or 1:20, maybe) but the controller broke, and the RC was so cheap that a replacement controller would cost more that the RC itself (which includes a controller). Another one that I have is a baja-like RC. It looks kind of like that, but not HPI (it's some Chinese company) and like 1:12 or 1:15 scale. I would post the real pictures, but I'm not at home so, yeah. The last one is a 1:10 scale truck like this: Again it's not HPI, but another cheap one, and it's a pretty bad design: when it jumps at all the balance is towards the back and then hits the rear shock tower and subsequently bends it . So, now I am going to buy another one: the Axial SCX10. My plan is to either make it into a Defender 110 (similar to the camel trophy, but a bit different), or a Unimog, but [the Unimog] is way to expensive :/ D: so, does anyone know where I can get something similar at a cheaper price. EDIT: what should I buy as the base SCX10? EDIT: check out Waffet's YouTube channel, me makes great RC videos. EDIT: my inspiration for getting a new RC was this.
I have a Tamiya TT-01, it was originally an RX-7 kit, but I had it as a kid and the body was destroyed, I recently cut it up and made it in to a RAID/BAJA body. Now, after years of it being left in the garage, I have started using it again. However, the motor was badly rusted and the steering motor/servo caught fire and gave up on life so I got a sport tuned motor and replaced the whole front end. It's now kitted out with slicks and a 599XX body kit (apologies for the small bump of the thread):
