Hi there, I wanted to buy myself a new G27 but after some thinking I thought I buy a new Graphics card. But I dont know If it´s worth it and if it makes the performence slighly better. I wanted to buy a 750 Ti . I now have a Sapphire 7750 HD with 2Gb GDDR3 - A AMD FX 4130 and a ASRock 970 Extreme 4 What I should buy. Wheel or Graphics ?
I have a 750, which is basically the same thing but with only 1GB GDDR5. It can run games like GTA V at a solid 45 FPS at high settings. Games like BeamNG run on mid settings at 80 FPS on Gridmap and just under 30 on Hirochi Raceway. Older Games like Need for Speed Prostreet run maxed out a 60 FPS no problem. FPS might be a bit higher with the ti version, but I can't test that.
Get a GPU. If you're planning on the 750Ti, I'd suggest you look into a more performance per dollar one. (ex 750 FTW owner here)
I searched around in the wide Internet and found a gtx 970. I am willed to buy it if I would have enough money
I don't think you will get a lot more performance with a 750 ti, I would personally go for a wheel or save up a bit more and get a 760 or something.
Wait for the next update, with direct x11 you can expect a lot better frame rates. Considering at the minute even top end cards like a 980ti can only just max the game at 50-55fps on the detailed maps its worth waiting to see how much better it will get.
If you are indeed upgrading and it's between a peripheral or a computer component, always go for the component. Think of it this way, the wheel is a luxury but a faster GPU is a bit more of a necessity. You can always play the game using another controller of some sort, so would you rather it be more playable first, or control nicer first?
A wheel is fun, but whats the point of playing with a wheel when your game is lagging? I used to own a 750 ti, its AMAZING with the peformance you can get out of it for how much its worth, it almost seems too good to be true, but the 750ti isn't coping with the latest games with ultra settings. If you have some extra cash, grab a GTX 960, its my current card and can max out about 80% of my steam libary (I have 160+ games in my collection, but 300+ thanks to family sharing.) Once you get your GPU, save up for a wheel, if money starts to become an issue, get a second hand Driving Force GT, its cheap but is great for the price, only 2 issues with that wheel, the pedals are absolute garbage and the gear in the wheel is really loud. But other than that its great!
If you are able to play the games you want to play already then get the wheel. If not then get the graphics card. There is also a fairly significant difference in price between a 750ti and a g27. I would recommend that you aim a bit higher than a 750ti. While the card is capable of running 1080p games its about equal to a 560ti in terms of performance. Instead i think that it would make more sense to save up a little bit and go for something like the gtx960. With the 960 you get a current gen nvidia card with proper support for all of dx12's features rather than a card that works with dx12 without supporting the new features. As well as that it is leaps and bounds ahead of the 750ti in terms of performance.
Graphics card. But a 750 Ti wouldn't be a huge upgrade TBH. If you were planning on buying a G27, you can probably afford a 960 or Radeon 280X/380.
I had a GTX 580 until just recently, and that worked just fine. A new wheel would be what you want. You can get a Logitech G27 for $200-$250 on Amazon, and it will make driving in-game so much easier. That being said, 2GB of RAM isn't all that much. You should look in to at LEAST doubling that, if not quadrupling it. I had to upgrade from 4GB to play a game about a year and a half ago, so how you are getting away with 2GB is quite surprising.
I think its much more better if you are save for a gtx 970 because that has only a bit less power than an gtx 980 and this Beast is powerful ^^
