http://pcpartpicker.com/p/dbvqf7 The_power_supply_is_reliable For as OS just pirate Windows 8.1 Pro from KAT.cr. Just search: "windows 8 pro".
no, I dont, but at the moment I care only about the pc. I need some ideas on which components I need and which ones are bad and which ones are good
By the way remember to refresh the thread, or you won't see if anyone posted after the last time you refreshed the page.
I dont think it's good to pirate an os. Anyway, I'll install Windows 10. I like the partlist, thankyou very much - - - Updated - - - I refreshed it, but you posted while I was typing
I think it's fine to pirate the OS, the machine I'm typing this on, and another of my laptops has pirated 8.1 Pro. Just so you know this laptop that I'm typing this on used to have legit Windows, but it kept saying it was in-genuine (but it was genuine) so I just installed pirated Windows. - - - Updated - - - Yes, all you need is Bandicam. Actually just use ShadowPlay (comes with the GPU) (thanks SuperNoob05)
It's too dangerous to overclock a cpu for long time, its dangerous for the entire pc. I once overclocked my Acer and I only got a +10 FPS performance boost on Rigs of Rods, but at the same time my pc was at risk. So it's better to avoid it and do it only for fun
BTW if you decide to buy Windows legit-ly it will add 110 EUR to it. If you are going to buy it don't bother to get Pro, there is essentially NO DIFFERENCE. - - - Updated - - - Dangerous on a LAPTOP, but on a desktop, it's fine. Watch the video.
A friend of mine had a brand new Acer Aspire with 2.6 GHz, mine only had 1.6... He used Windows 8.1 Pro and I was using Windows Vista Home premium. Guess what? I was driving a Burnside Sedan on MitCity (multiplaying with him) and he was using an offroad version. I got around 40 FPS and him just nearly half... Another reason to change the latest generation "laptops" name onto craptop. They are fast while booting, but try gaming... Another reason to build my own desktop - - - Updated - - - Thankyou, I have learned a lot from that video.
He doesn't need Bandicam to record videos, a 750 TI has Nvidia Shadowplay, which doesn't limit him to 10 minutes and allows him to record in everything from 720p 30FPS to 1440p or more @60 FPS. It also doesn't have a watermark.
Why do you care so much about this old rusty? It's no longer worth the scrap metal it took to assemble it. Please, invest in anything modern and no matter the price point it'll be an improvement.
That is not a reason to call newer laptops craptops at all. So you have 1.6ghz and he has 2.6ghz on the CPU. You realise this translates to little of any real meaning for RoR? Especially considering the GPU makes a collosal impact on framerate in RoR and he may not have one at all? CPU in the majority of games makes little impact on framerate. Hell. You've also got to consider that windows 8 by default is in the balanced power plan not high performance so is likely underclocking anyway. 2 seconds to change. Comparing on CPU alone is the single most unfair thing you can do. It is right out there with saying that because my car has a 113bhp inline 4 engine it must logically handle worse than a 600hp v8 just because it has less power. Completely untrue. If anything I'd wager mine would outhandle any old american v8 muscle car, mostly thanks to terrible suspension and drivetrain setups on those muscle cars and the focus actually being a damn well handling vehicle, yet a v8 sports car (I do not consider a muscle car a sports car) could probably thrash it, but even that is meaningless considering you have the human element behind the wheel, hence why I can stay on the bumper of cars that far outclass my own, christ my stepdad has 3 decades of driving experience, has driven track, spent his fair amount of time hooning in his youth, yet I can stay on his bumper on back roads, his car, a BMW 320d with the M sports package...
My computer was in the balanced power plan as well, and we were using the same RoR settings as well. His laptop is an Acer Aspire V5-572P. - - - Updated - - - Sorry, not a V5, but a V3-531
Just a question: Can I take the RAM from my Acer and use it on my Asus X50GL? The Acer is dead so I was wondering if I can use his memory onto my Asus, so to double the RAM. The Acer has got 4 Gigs and the Asus only 2.
It should be doable aslong as the DDR version that the Asus supports is higher than or equal to the one of the Acer. 4 GB are still not very much though. It's not enough to do what I normally do (GTA V, which eats 6GB) But maybe it's enough for you, just saying it wouldn't be for me.
