Allright, back from holiday and straight into my books for the resits next week (anyone got some spare time for me..?)

Made some new additions, but it's hard to keep the mod up-to-date as the game develops. Using an old overheating laptop in the heat of summer, a windows update corrupting windows itself and crashing while saving a blender file corrupting the file and so wasting lots of work doesn't help either. Sorry for whining. ;)

All custom engine meshes are updated (snorkel engines and also a turbo'd V8 Diesel) and I've added a new 'old style' front fascia. It still needs some small work but I wonder what people think of the current design. Stretching the side of the grill to fit the side fenders isn't the most beautiful option but it keeps the number of edited parts down.
There are lots of small new parts like the side exhausts (carried over from my Moonhawk mod), tubular side steps for all body options, side rails, taxi parts, functional alley lights etc.

I know there's a texture problem with the latest release, it's been fixed.

I've tried putting on a stretched station body on the longest HD frame but it looks terrible as a limo. It needs a longer wheelbase (like a double cab autobed), so it needs new frame which consumes lots of time creating (and updating in case of new wheels etc) so that won't be in the upcoming release.

That old style fascia looks amazing!
I'm really excited for the new version to release.

I love the old-style fascia! Speaking of fascias, I just made this variant. Perhaps it could be from the same time period as the original headlights but with a different design to add to the variety. :)

Old style fascia instantly made me think of a Jeep or old Ford. Dig it!

On second thought. the D15 old style fascia resembles a '79 Ford Bronco.

That pre-facelift grill is sweet! One thing that stuck out to me was the size of the headlights though. To my eyes they look a bit bigger than the standardized size for round headlights in the US (7" in diameter for vehicles with one headlight per side since 1940). This picture of a Chevy Scottsdale should show what I mean.

Anyhow man I hope your holiday was relaxing, you bust your ass on these mods. After trying out a few of 'em I've been genuinely looking forward to new official vehicles partly to get ahold of your versions.

Just like a Ford :p Doesn't look bad indeed. I'll keep it in mind, I wont have time to include it in the upcoming update. Although I do think it an almost copy of a Ford and maybe this one should fit a Gavril competitor?

Thanks! I had this Dodge in mind when modeling :p

That would be quite difficult as something like that should have it own texture/Uv maps. I could slam it on existing maps (like the station) but I'm not sure if it would look nice.

Thanks! And thanks for the info about the headlight size. I already thought they looked too big, I didn't know about the standard so I've reduced the size so it's 7" diameter. I'm not sure the fascia fits the headlights now, the lights are now a bit small compared to the large square they are in. I could raise the sides (like a Chevy) of the grill or put the turn signals into the grill (Like a Ford), but I like the third gen Dodge D series look to it...

The smaller headlights might necessitate an inner "ring" on the fascia just like the Dodge pic? Something
to even out or lessen the visual impact of the now larger lamp wells. Love the overall look and feel of it.

The bezels do look quite large, but not necessarily bad. If I did anything to change the look of them id take the approach ford did with their 78' model. It would "tighten" the headlight bezels up, but without all that empty space like you see on a chevy.

    (imported from here)

That being said I think it looks good the way it is, reminds me of an old international. Also kinda looks like a c10

The West Coast style mirror on this mod is a no texture error (the normal HD mirror is fine)
Using latest update (0.4.1.1), with the guageglass fix.

If you can sit tight, AR162B is going to update it pretty soon, just sit tight and it should be fixed in v0.4.2

It's all on hold for now as my current laptop isn't capable of running 0.4.1.1... Or I need a new laptop or I download 0.4.0.5, use the vehicles from 0.4.1.1 and hope it doesn't run into problems.

Yeah, I would if I could but last time I checked I still haven't got a money growing tree on my balcony. :p (and the Paypal button is used as many as two times...)
I'm looking at a laptop I can by trough my university, it's a great buy but still lots of money. I really don't want to rush such a purchase, especially with some resits next week.

Got it working :) I'm using 0.4.0.5 for now, I've copied the 0.4.1.1 vehicles and in second try also modified the vehicle section of the integrity.json, but no luck getting it to work properly. Only objects, my mods and official vehicles with mods show up. (So that's why there's a taxi and not a Pessima in the screens :p) Also copied the Pessima files to the mod section but no luck.

At least I'm able to finish the mod. I've altered the front end a bit (actually already yesterday), I'm quite fond of the result. The square edge around the headlights is thickened so it matches the grill-edge-thickness. Also moved the lights and some grill sections a tiny bit down. I'll update the offroad light textures to look like those classic headlights.

I'm loving the old style front fascia :). Something else to include in the update. Maybe some heavy duty weights for the gooseneck? Everyone like to see torque twist on a D35. :p

I've planned to make some prefab cargo options for the gooseneck flatbed, probably hay bales as well. I was searching for images on the internet how hay bales are usually transported, found out about the hay wagon, so now I've made a hay wagon. Made a custom over complicated front suspension; some kind of solid front axle with turnable hubs/wheels which turn with the drawbar (the drawbar mesh isn't visible yet, just a beam) Still needs some geometry finetuning and somehow I can't get the suspension to raise like the front suspension of the full trailer in my van mod...
