Gabe did such an awesome job with these model I can't help but make a cabriolet and pick up of the Covet! Just finished the bed sides got the back of the cab partially done. (And now I didn't just remove the back section of the roof lol, the rear end from the wheel back was partially reworked. I'll have to create a second folder because currently it replaces the hatch! (imported from here) (imported from here) Thanks again for the awesome models Gabe! Should be done tomorrow! Then to give it 4wd!
You edited the .dae? What software are you using? Blender 2.66 screws up smoothing when importing the dae...I can't make rims till I get that sorted
It actually isn't anything resembling fast in stock N/A form, and it looks like a combination of a Geo Metro/Honda Civic. It's fun for crashing, but I wouldn't call it cool just because it's a small 90's deathtrap that happens to be incredibly fun to destroy. But on topic, cool idea, I assume you'll be editing the N/B too so it crashes correctly?
Excuse me if I'm incorrect, but I'm pretty sure Gabester doesn't like his addons being modded without his permission... But otherwise, I like it.
I think that may have been more the free Rigs of Rods cars he did, since the ROR forum was much more immature and he wasn't paid for doing those cars. I could be wrong, but it seems like he's more relaxed on things like this. And it's quite a bit harder for someone to claim they created the car since it "ships" with BeamNG.
What do you mean not fast? It's the second fastest stock car, and , if you actually read the wiki, it says it gets 110 hp stock (180hp turbo , and weighs only 1000 kg! As for being cool, I guess that is just a matter of opinion.
I've PM'd him and he seems excited to see the amount of user input this game is giving. I do agree with him multple .dae files will make it much easier.
I mean it isn't fast, it may be in comparison to the other stock cars, but it isn't fast IMO. It's probably a high 15, low to mid 16 second car given the weight and power, which is respectable, but not "fast". The Grand Marshal feels quicker to me though. It's about on-par with a 91 Civic Si Hatch (looked the specs up, Base/DX is ~70hp and 21xxlbs, Si is 108hp and 22xxlbs) It's fun to throw around though, and it seems pretty balanced. I guess it's all a matter of opinion of how fast it is though. That's good, I hope this works out great for the devs, it's an awesome game and awesomely priced for how much time you get out of it, and the fact that it's so mod friendly just makes it even better.
Alright updates yay! First off again Gabe's models are better than anything I've ever seen so making my pickup modification look right is taking much more time than expected! Got the bed nice and flat, as you can see I'm redoing the corners, I plan on using the D-15 tails. You can also see my roof modifcations. (imported from here) Hoping to make it longer one I actually complete the model! - - - Updated - - - Updated more: (imported from here) Almost done - - - Updated - - - In-game. Really pleased with it so far! (imported from here)
How did you get that into blender? I'm trying to create a covet rally car, but I cannot get the file into blender.
copy your .dae from the car folder to the desktop. then open up blender, go to file, then under file click import, then select .dae (Collada). when it brings up the window for you to select the file, go to desktop and find your .dae from the car. double click or click open
I've got blender 2.66. When I try to import it, all it does is spawn an other box. One time it created a new file called hatch.DAE.dae!
