I honestly think that online multiplayer would be more of a pain in the ass more then anything else. in ror, the collisions were disabled and we could not hit anyone. the servers were weird. it was running fine tho. but i wonder whats going to happen to beamng. i really want split screen multiplayer. that is the best thing that would happen. it would be way easier and the only thing you would need is a friend. to be honest i would prefer split screen.
Multiplayer collision was disabled because people randomly crashed into others as a main reason AFAIK and also inter-vehicle collision is buggy in RoR anyways, less in BNG.
Not flaming but RoR was so bad, If you came near to another person you had 16FPS. Even with my computer. It is running at 60 with one car. There is a guy from the server. LAGG
^Im with that, how hard would it be to make a Lan MP, just beta or something. Higher up games that have wayyy more detail and other stuff run quite well. I know everyones saying "Its not possible" look st GTA V Online, Medieval Engineers, DayZ, etc
All games with far far less data points to transmit... There is a good 2 magnitudes of difference in the number of datapoints on a BeamNG vehicle versus a GTA one. Plus the physics rate in BeamNG is far far higher.
You claim to be with my idea but then go on a totally different tangent about lan mp. I am not talking about Lan. I'm talking about local mp with no split screen and just being able to control as many vehicles as you have different inputs. I have a keyboard & mouse (obviously) and two controllers. With my idea I'd be able to control three vehicles. Sure it wouldn't be split screen and you'd have to adjust the camera so everyone could at least see their vehicle and even then it would be a bit difficult to control said vehicle. It'd be kinda like driving an RC car where you are looking at it from a distance. Either way imo my idea is the first logical step in terms of multiplayer for this game. To me it seems like the simplest to implement least taxing on hardware and requires no lan/online coding to be done.
In my opinion, MP would be good for online racing, scenarios ETC. However, we should allow crashes in the races to make them seem realistic. And to add on, Europe Truck Simulator 2 has multiplayer.
