How to install terrain maps?

So i haven't seen a topic posted about this in a while...really confused. So i heard about this game and it's amazing mod scene, happen to download the cliff2 and Canyon of Speed maps, move them into the mods folder and no dice. Not sure if they have to be in zip format (if so would it be too much to ask if anyone provided a link with it in zip format?) If that isn't the case...not too sure.

Oh yeah, slightly unrelated but does anyone know if theres a site that hosts working car mods? i have been wanting to find some supra's, skylines and such to screw around with, but the downloads i have found refuse to work...any ideas?

 

You just put the zip file into the mods folder, most mods are already distributed in zip format. Also this is the only website that hosts mods and car mods that can be trusted.

 

Actually just tried that, they came up as unknown.

Odd, noticed the other car mods i got are having the same issue (scanned em a few times to be safe, no issue other than that they sort into the wrong catagories, any way to change? note: same issue maps are having)

 

in my experience, it doesnt matter if they say unknown in the mod manager thing, as they still load for me if they say unknown. Also, what maps and/or vehicles are you using?
