She doesn't look it but she is pretty beat up. Steering bent, door, sill and floor all really dented, front and rear wing dented, front wheel and brakes warped. The fan got bent and cut through the radiator hoses and radiator so it makes a horrible noise now, but she does run fine (apart from the sticky throttle) I've broken a couple of ribs, and fractured a few bits in my right hand.
ktheminecraftfan back on form, spewing rubbish as usual... The cost to repair out of warranty at the stealership will always be high, no matter how old or new your car is. Completely clearing that list would cost me under $700 and a few days, including part locating and beer time. Depreciation, condition, and desirability dictate the value of an older car. Nobody will want to sell cheap and minimise profits out of the good of their hearts just because the next owner will have to pay more for repairs, which isn't even true unless they take their 20 year old Hyundai Excel to the dealer, or if they drive something stupid rare like a 22B. That's pretty substantial man, what the heck happened?
Most cars can be fixed for pretty cheap if you're scrappy enough. Also, pretty bad accident up there. How'd it happen? Dud you hydroplane or something?
Throttle return spring snapped and it was really wet while going around a corner, had a decision to either hit another car, hit the fence and lamp post or hit a bus stop full of people. In the dry I'd have been able to handle it(or at least stop the car) but the road surface on that corner is really slippy in the wet. I have a spare wing and door, it is just how bad the damage to the floors and sills is, fingers crossed that it is repairable. If you look the car is actually facing the wrong way, that's because I ended up doing a 540 degree spin. - - - Updated - - - Ignored the doctors and had a crack at taking my wreck apart this afternoon. It's bad but it's fixable, parts total £400, need to work out how much labour and paint will cost though.... Good job I have spare doors and wings! The castle rail and whole sill assembly on the drivers side are knackered but the floor managed to stay intact, the rear wing could of done with being replace before the accident so I will do that as well now it has a dent in.
I just passed state inspection with no reverse lights and a faulty right headlight. I'm not sure whether I should be happy, or disappointed at how the tech didn't even notice it. So yay? I still have to head down to the DMV to get my vehicle registration sticker renewed.
Yup, off my mums Falcon, they're only like 16's too.. Also, had 4 brand new tires when I purchased the car.. Front Rear
Obviously someone has been coming to your house and rubbing your rear tires with sandpaper, it's the only possible explanation!
Headgasket replacement on the Benz. The head is now out of the car and being cleaned properly before going back in tomorrow. Every possible gasket on the engine is being replaced. Two of the coolant jackets on the block were clogged up completely with what I assume is dried up oil. Good thing this car is in my hands.
Haven't sold the Audi yet, gonna do some exhaust welding and a good clean before is goes away. Bought the Mercedes because I wanted to "start" on a new car. I also wanted a car in better condition both visually and mechanically.
