Personally, I'd like to see all avatars locked to Steve Buscemi's face since cartoon tiddies frighten this forum so much. Beautiful.
6677's avatar was removed? I hope I didn't contribute to the mod's decision of doing it. I wasn't a huge fan of it, but I didn't want it removed or anything.
Personally i think both of the avatars of 6677 and Shotgun chuck were equally as bad, by which i meant both of them were not an issue to me. I guess its amusingly ironic to see someone with the confederate flag as their avatar asking for someone elses to get taken down because they take offense to it.
I don't think anyone got offended, but come on guys, you have to admit it was inappropriate. Like what Potato said, it was mainly an issue of browsing in the public, which I do frequently. I must say, thank you 6677 for changing your avatar (I love it now). The forums are already more pleasant.
I did indeed have 6677 on ignore. He's off now, but I've used an Adblockplus kludge to solve the problem more permanently anyway (blocking http://www.beamng.com/data/avatars/ for those who are interested). As far as Confederate flag vs. suggestive imagery: to my way of thinking, sexual crudity is in its own category, morally speaking. Also, many thanks to the moderators for their uncommon consideration here.
Its too grey for me, Im triggered. No but seriously tho, Lets just use logic. Even if we would "tighten up avatars" theres still gonna be some people who are going to be offended. its getting crazy how much peoples gets easily offended now days. like wtf. How hard can it be to just not use something that is obviously not offending. but now days some random meme will offend someone.
To my way of thinking, a symbol of slavery is in its own category, morally speaking. I demand your avatar be removed as I find it offensive. See? It goes both ways.
The irony that the freedom of liberty to have an avatar depicting an outfit that would not cause an arrest for public indecency is taken away by a man with a symbol of slavery. Besides, it doesnt take much will to overlook "suggestive" imagery. The crudity is only an issue to the weaker man
But you know, that implies that guy had any say in it. A moderator decided they didn't want that image on their website and removed it. This isn't your website, suck it up or go away?
Jeez... I thought children weren't allowed on these forums? Can we all please act more mature? No need to fight each other ever, especially something so pointless.
This is the confederate flag, as of the end of the Civil War. This is the rectangular variant of the Northern Virginian Army's battle flag. Neither of which are symbols of slavery, or hatred, but of resistance against an invading army, and the preservation of freedom.
Fair enough. But had this thread never existed in the first place, no avatars would have been removed. Also, to make things clear, I am not offended by a confederate flag at all. I was simply pointing out it's extremely hypocritical to say someone's avatar offends you when your own is potentially offensive to some people. Anyway, could we all be less offended by other people's choice of picture? It's stupid. Let's just stop this before the mods decide they've had enough and remove avatars completely.
I can't figure out quoting, meh. There actually were very similar GIF avatars removed before this thread existed I couldn't care less about the avatars, I believe they should be static small images. GIFs are simply not needed and serve literally no purpose.
