Yea well, Steam page would've told you that it doesn't run on Mac OS. So it's your fault. Just contact support - they'll refund it even with your "nice" words you put here.

    Here's a recap.
With all my respect, that's not our fault if YOU did not check the System Specs before purchasing a game. The games that supports MAC are not that much, and due that, checking if MAC is supported should be the FIRST thing you should do.

You can't blame us for that.

We would be more than happy to make a MAC OSX version, but:
    - Working on another OS in parallel to Windows requires resource that we do not have. Our team is small enough, and we can't split it to work on another thing like that.
    - Even if we worked on a MAC OSX version, the MAC hardware that would be able to run BeamNG properly would be ridicolously low. MAC are not super computers sadly. That's the same reason Oculus Rift isn't supporting MAC OSX either: http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/ocul...-possible-until-apple-prioritizes-performance

Sadly this isn't the first time I hear of somebody with a MAC purchasing this game without checking the System Specs.
Even on Steam, next to the purchase button, there are the icons of the supported OS, and clearly the Apple logo isn't here:

While a game that supports MAC do have the Apple logo

Since you purchased the game from less than 14 days probably, you can ask a refund directly from Steam:
    http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds/

Next time, make sure you check out the System Spec and that your OS is supported. We replied to you, but who knows if it happens to you again, that the support of the next game will even answer you.

Maybe you should have checked which platforms the game runs on instead of just skipping through everything and then claiming it's the developers' fault. Let this be a lesson for you to read what you're buying before you buy it.

*insert long-@$$ copypasta about never smoking yet getting cancer from your post anyway* honestly, you should always read if a game is compatible with your (cr@ppy) machine. And don't blame it on BeamNG for being money hungry scammers and saying it's their fault for not putting it on mac. Heaps of games are only for windows, since microsoft (and google if we're talking about phones) are more open and easier to write with. Apple like to put restrictions on what you can do, and don't like people using the full potential of their devices (hence why jailbreaking is so popular on iOS)

As for the guys here at BeamNG, as far as I've seen they're one of the nicest and most helpful dev teams I've ever met. They let people on the team who are great with the community (Nadeox1 and Dummiesman to name a few). They're not trying to scam you out of your money, in fact I lost my email and password that I first bought the game with and couldn't access the forums or get the key to download the game on my new PC, before it was even up for greenlight. Gabester responded to my email in less than 5 hours, and it was pretty much immediate back and forth emails until it was fixed.

Point is, the people here are brilliant, and it's your fault for not reading what the game can run on. And btw, your computer specs would be less than $500 if it were windows, so you couldn't play it anyway.

He bought the game and looked over platform specifications. It was an honest mistake, and Steam will usually provide a refund for this type of mistake. No need to make posts like that.

You are making all these points when you don't understand how developing a game works. To make this run on OS X, it would take a lot of resources. And afaik the game engine they are using does not support OS X (and they cannot simply change game engine, they did the best out of the situation). Making this happen is not about snapping their fingers, and as Nadeox said, they are a pretty small company.

And they are a company that actually listen to their users, which many other developer companies does not! They are pationate about this and do not deserve this kind of groundless critic.

By the way, every "Mac user" don't need to buy a Windows computer, you can install Windows on every Mac, because Mac is just another PC with same parts used in other computers. The only unique about them is that they are built well, look good, and cost way much more than they should (you pay for fashion value, not spec value).

You are actually kind of rude with your post, while this is all your fault. No offense, but that is the truth.

Your computer is not very powerful at all, and the GPU is about useless. Most Macbooks are very weak actually. Even the Macbook Pros are weak for gaming.

They are the same, unless you get the Pro, which is also not very good for gaming. You should get a desktop computer, most preferably self-built. Or get one built from Komplett.no (those computers are OK. Not the best, but better than "Elkjøp computers"). Laptops rarely cut it.

You got to understand that what they are doing with this game is innovative and unique. The kind of dynamic, real-time, soft-body physics they've got need a lot of power. That is the reason no other game has it. It is on you to know what you are buying when you press "buy", you cannot just assume that your laptop will run it. Especially when you have a Mac PC, which rarely support games.

You could install several OSs on your computer though, like Windows or Linux (and still have OS X). It's called multi-boot. But make backups if you try something like this.

Give him a break, he's 13. Who hasn't been wrong in their life? He's upset he spent his birthday money on a game where he should read before he bought it, and he is worried he cannot get a refund.

It's much more useful to try and explain the whys and hows instead of being a douche.

    :(

We as developers have no control over this, we would like to disallow people buying the game cross-platform, which is not possible apparently. Also, we cannot issue refunds ourselfs as we have no controls to do so. The user must get a refund by starting the refund request on their own: http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds/

Your profile says you're from North America, so I'm sure things are different for you, but here getting a refund for this is completely and perfectly normal. In fact, Steam and several other online distributors have a TOS that's 90% invalid due to violating national laws. For example, there's always a 14-day period in which you can get a refund for online purchases. Steam has (finally) implemented this system, which most people consider highly lenient, while it's actually the bare minimum needed to not get sued. Consumer protection in the USA might be non-existent, but that doesn't mean that common decency (oh, you made a mistake, here's your money back) should be thrown out the window everywhere.

You don't really need a 1000 dollar windows (Mainly cause most don't cost that much). I'm running the game on a Dell laptop, with a Nvidia graphics card. It doesn't run Ultra High on 60fps, but I still get around 30-40 most of the time on ultra, even more if I plug in the charger.

He's not the first person to do a mistake and then create an angry forum thread. He doesn't deserve the hate here, althought I disagree with his ranting. Personally I just hope he reads some of the whys and hows here so he can understand why his thread is out of place. And get his refund and in the future read up before buying games. :) Though, he being upset about not being able to play a game he bought is understandable. What we see here is a writing done in a frustrated state of mind.

If everyone is gonna have the attitue "darn you, it's your mistake, so you're on your own and I couldn't care less", this place and the world in general will be a pretty unpleasant place (which it already kinda is).

Mac... Not good for gaming. Just because it runs Minecraft and Gmod, doesn't mean it runs games.
