I'm sure you're already aware of this but in the rare chance that you aren't, the UI lags immensely whenever you try to use it on the start screen, binding controls, ect.

Can you tell us what controllers (gamepads, etc) are you using? Also what CPU do you have?
We are aware that certain users have been experiencing a slow UI, and we are working on improving that. The next release should fix the worst cases.

Same with me. Especially with high resolutions like 3840x2160. At 1920x1080 it's fine. I'm talking about the main menu.

Here's what I did when I had the UI causing BeamNG to crash, I turned off he Steam in-game UI. You may also need to turn off anything like fraps or ShadowPlay.

It's not causing it to crash, just lag like crazy.

Wired XBOX 360 controller (non official)
    Intel Core i3-4130 CPU @ 3.40 GHz

Yeah, UI is noticeably unresponsive. I'm not sure if it's slow HDD access times, controllers or Shadowplay, because I have all of these. Either way the UI is quite clunky, there's like a 500ms delay between clicking and a menu opening.

No big deal, just something that would be nice to see fixed/improved.

Specs in signature, running 1920x1080, using DS3 controller.

Noticing a theme here, all GTX Graphics cards. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I have this issue, but it did not happen with my wired 360 controller (up until it's death) it only happens if my Xbox controller S is plugged in, and then only in bind controls.

    I have a GTX with shadowplay and an i7 K875 @ 2.93.

Happens to me as well. I have noticed the console being flooded with some angular.js errors.
I had an MS Sidewinder FFBW plugged in.

I am having the issue with a amd r9 so I do not think it is limited to nvidia/gtx.

Currently my rig has a bad cpu (Intel Celeron, if you need more info i could check my bios for the exact model number), a standard seagate hard drive, and 16 gigs of ram. I have OBS which could affect it, I have any special software and/or controllers, I do have a microphone connected but I do not think itl affect anything. I get around a 1 second delay which is horrible and pretty much unbearable for playing the game, I have not found a work around.
PS: My computer is bench marked at around 1 real time car.
EDIT: Most of the lag happens in some menus of the in game ui, it seems like only ones with many options, the main one affected seems the vehicle selection menu. Im guessing the error is in drawing the images (Maybe loading the image every frame?) because I dont have as much lag in those.

For me, it's completely fine. No lag no matter what I do.
    Specs:
    Intel Core i5 4460 @ 3.2GHz, 4C/4T
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 @ 1GHz, 1GB VRAM
    1080p

Sometimes the UI is not responsive at all when the game has been reduced and not displayed for 5 min.
BeamNG.ui take 25% cpu and the ram usage go up.

    Craptop : i5-3230M (2.6 GHz, 2C/4T), iGPU : Intel HD Graphics 4000, 8go ram, 1366*768
happen sometimes on my gaming pc too i7-2600k, GTX560ti, 1080p
