I want one. Where should I look, or does anyone have any recommendations on what to buy? I would prefer greater than or equal to A4 size paper.
In my limited experience you can probably break them into 3 catagories: cheap tablets (poor resolution/features), regular tablets without a screen (they tend to be of good quality but the disconnect between your hand and the monitor never entirely goes away which makes it hard to do line work/drawing but good for most things) and cintiqs/others (the screen lets you draw directly on your image, I currently have a 13" cintiq and it's far easier to use in my opinion than my far larger intuos 4 (without a screen)). Hope that helps. I'd recommend checking out some more art oriented places though.
I don't know of any. Thanks for the post it really helped! EDIT: would love to get a Wacom CintiQ 13HD, but way too expensive.
I know it's a little old and out of date, but I really like the Wacom Bamboo Splash. I bought one in 2012 and have been using it on and off and it's great. It's not the fanciest, but it works great for doing some sketches or whatever. EDIT: I have the CTL471 model. You can pick it up on Amazon.com for $80 right now.
I have a wacom bamboo fun pen & touch (silver one with black down one side of the top) and it does the job for me. So i guess i can recommend whatever the wacom intuos if you are in that price range. Its nothing fancy but it will do the job.
