Is it planned? Since i think it would be easy to make. Just made a car with too much power and the car get unstable with a clutch too strong so i need to make it slip a bit ( spinning on 5 gear at full 6k rpm ) So it do slip but it would add some kind of strategy to make power with the temp increasing etc Could be awesome to see the temp increase and smoke coming out of the radiator and engine maybe
Automatic tranny overheat under load Look for any ford ranger explorer issue with blowup tranny. They needed cooler. Like the one i have that has hauled a 6000lbs boat for some years max hauling weight is 4600lbs if i remember well Maybe a manual would not heat though i do remember an echo with a clutch slipping and no side effect. But that a stock engine. Maybe a wet clutch like in a atv could overheat.. No idea. Was just trying to find some info In the truck i made im like making impossible hp output.
Anyways if you drive like this dude you can overheat it. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/484395-Overheated-Clutch-Problems-Common Do remember that smell with one of my uncle driving an echo offroad in the snow lol ((( aint the best driver
Yea well i mean by engine ( oil temp ) all of it including the tranny. Sorry just realised what i said. Maybe a second temp counter? Anyways what you think will happen if you slip a clutch at 12k rpm with 4000lb of torque.... Massive heat that would probably melt everything Sorry for triple post just realised it aint working like the old forum
You can overheat a clutch but it won't affect oil temperature in neither the engine or transmission. An automatic can definitely overheat from "slipping" but that's generally because of fluid slippage in the torque converter rather than the clutch packs in them slipping
