If you are in automatic drive mode and for instance rolling backwards down a hill, even if very slowly, accelerating doesn't work. Accelerating forward when you are rolling backwards works as a brake, but on a slope you never actually manage to stop rolling backwards, even if you are almost at a stop. So accelerating never switches back to actually accelerating and you just continue to slowly roll down the hill. Forward/brake and backwards/break should switch at a very low speed rather than at a complete stop.

I am aware that it is very hard to get a vehicle moving up a hill, but that is not the issue because re-spawning and immediately accelerating works fine because the game doesn't think you are reversing.

Yes, we are going to add a proper manual automatic mode soon, and improve the launch/hill start behavior in the current "arcade" mode :)

For now you can just use the manual. (Though that does have it's own issues)

I read that earlier. But I actually like this sort of controlling, with the forward brake and reverse as one button and vice versa. Like GTA. It would be cool if you guys could tweak this one to work better. It seems like having it switch at a very low speed rather than at a stop would fix it.

Nevermind, I read that too quickly... Thanks!
