That happened to my truck too, I've never been more pissed in my life. Took it to the school, they won't do anything about it, because I signed a for stating that they weren't responsible for anything that happens to personal vehicles. And on the outside, I was calm. But on the inside I was like, "Fuck you. I didn't pay $100 (yes, I have to PAY 100 FUCKING DOLLARS) to have my $4800 truck slowly get destroyed by inbred meat-heads." And people wonder why other people go insane and jump off bridges and light elderly people's homes on fire. It's the small things, the little things. The least, THE ABSOLUTE LEAST, that place can do is protect my extremely expensive possession in some way. I don't care how much it costs, I go to a rich school, I live in a nice area, in a small but nice house, with nice things in it. And I have the privilege of driving a nice automobile to my nice, rich school to have it slowly killed by idiotic, moronic fucktards who fail Alegebra 1, yet still get a full ride to collage because they can carry a sack full of air 100 yards to a special little scoring place on a sports field. Yet I sit here with a 2.3 weighted average, struggling to find everything including a job so I can put gas in my nice, now freshly scratched automobile. [/RANT]
Probably just some dumbass kids fucking your shit up for fun. At first I was thinking it could be accidental, but the way it swirls a couple times at the end makes me think otherwise. Also, I don't blame the school for not accepting liability for it. Not their problem. About the only way to avoid it is parking away from where people regularly walk, as well as other cars.
I'm just happy I'm not driving a car that I actually wanted, which would be Bugeye Subaru, Porsche 944, or some sort of late 80s early 90s BMW. I would be even more pissed than I already am. I'm already tied of driving a car that the paint looks bad, and now it has a big long SCRATCH on it. If it happened once it's probably not the last time. Whoever did it probably picked it because it looked like a POS in the first place. I live in a small school too, about 100 people per grade (so 400 students). It's not going to be very hard to narrow it down, I know of one person who hated it when I drove an all original (almost untouched condition) 1990 Ford Bronco to school (we hate each other in the first place anyway). When one of my friends saw it for the first time he said he thought it was going to be a shitty truck because a friend he used to have hated me having one and said bad things about my truck. we now sold that and bough a 1947 Ford F1 for a restoration project. I'm sure he hates me even more for having that. The person who hates me doesn't care about school, he failing just about all his classes, and he's always mad because his dad won't let him get his licence because of it. that's just one person who I think it would be but there are plenty of sketches at my school who smoke e-cigs, and skip school who would do that too.
The thing is no one parks in the spots right next to me, and no one walks through there unless their car is parked right there. Its also the the opposite end of the parking lot, furthest away from almost anything people would be walking to. There are two ways to get out of the parking lot, and one of those ways goes right passed my car.
That really sucks, I can't even imagine the all things I would do to someone if I found out they had keyed my car. I noticed a few shallow scratches in the paint when I first picked up my car, and I have since done touch-up with a basic paint chip repair kit from Dr. Color Chip. It worked pretty well, and the touch-up isn't noticeable unless you're looking for it. You can also touch-up a few other areas while you're at it. It cost me around $50 including shipping, but I definitely got my use out of it.
The problem is with getting some sort of chip repair kit is my paint is all faded which looks most similar to the picture below, not as extreme on the sides. My dad has already looked into repainting my car which wouldn't be with it. And getting a paint restore kit didn't work very well very well, especially on the hood because the paint is peeling off on the upper left corner. All I know is it's going to take a loooong time to get used to getting into a car knowing someone scratched it on purpose. And I have to look at it every time I get in my car. I guess I'll have to see what happens tomorrow.
On the topic of assholes, someone actually broke into my car at my school last week. luckily they only stole my aux cord, and my buddy's e-cig. Still pisses me off though. We are on the verge of finding out who did it. One of my other friends knows a dude who just got a doge themed tarnished copper e-cig from a a guy. Funny, considering that is exactly what my friend had stolen out of my car. Aux cord is still MIA tho.
You tried polishing it? It looks way too deep to polish out completely, but it could help a little. You could probably make it completely disappear with a little bottle of touch-up paint. Blotch it all along the scratch then sand it level so the only paint that remains is filling the scratch, then buff the scratches from the sanding out with some rubbing compound and then polish. I did that to some rock chips on the crown vic a week or two ago. Have to look for them to find them. Invisible if the car is dirty. I'm pretty mellow about paint because Ford Performance White. Just can't be worried about that shit. Life goes on.
I've heard of people doing that shit at my school, mostly Freshmen. It's actually pretty common because there is a building with a couple of classes in it at the bottom of the Junior lot, so there are people walking through the lot all day.
Some bugger smashed my back window! (Well, one of them, the nissan has 2 per door!) How dare someone hurt my Nissan! it did nothing wrong! Well, this gives my pop a reason to come down and make it road worthy again, is it also perfect timing that my Auntie who has the same model car has just listed her Nissan up for wrecking parts? I'mma steal that window, steering wheel and custom temp gauge!
You guys should invest in one of these. Number 1 asshole and thief deterrent Non-lethal too, apparently...
Well, this morning before school I talked to the assistant principle about my car getting keyed, we walked outside to look at what cameras would have my car in view, then he went into his office to review the footage. During school I got called to his office to see what he found. The bad news is where I park there is no cameras that have my car in view. I'll have to check with him tomorrow to ask more questions. He suggested for me to file a report to the police. After school I went to the police station to file a report. Not much to say there. But there is one thing I'm concerned about, some mornings, maybe 2-4 time a week for the past couple weeks. There has been a car that would take my spot (not in camera view), so I park with one empty spot between us (still not in camera), When I get out there is always someone in the drivers seat, I think a passenger too but I can't bee 100% sure. When I go to my first class I can see my car from the window, the car that takes my usual spot is gone for the rest of the day. I don't know if they just move parking spots or leave campus. The day my car got scratched I had my usual spot.
Not a good idea, dude. I don't think Nivracer's school approves of any kind of bullying when he's on school property.
Punching a shithead in the face isn't bullying. I really hate that term. It's just been so pussified. Who cares what his school approves of anyway? I wouldn't waste my time filing a police report. They probably couldn't care less. It's a minor scratch in a 15 year old Ford Focus owned by a highschool kid. I don't think you can get any lower on the minor crimes priority list.
Unfortunately, that's the inconvenient truth when it comes to vandalism and other petty crimes. Local police departments love making the excuse that they have more important things to do. In the case of APD, they're probably just busy generating revenue from speed traps and parking tickets. It's very disappointing, especially when you have a mountain of evidence. A perfect case to illustrate this is when a cell phone or credit card is stolen. Both are exceedingly easy to track down, yet many police departments don't even bother looking into it.
