There was a screening of the whole trilogy in the local-ish movie theater today, but I couldn't get there since my mother didn't feel like waiting 5 hours for me BTTF is my favourite movie trilogy btw.
I have the DVD and got it all on Blu-Ray already and I am tempted to get a Blu-Ray player for my TV upstairs to watch it and oh wait I did after I got home from work and I just finished it phew 2am!
@JackAttak Well, no more than usual!. There were quite a few other owners here that did media events and had their car on the news in the papers and attended themed BTTF events. My car was used in a music video a couple of years ago and a few tv appearances but for the most part I let some of the other owners get the attention for a change. I moved out to the country about a year ago, never going back to the city because I can actually enjoy driving out here. I now live in a small town about 45 km's away from the states second biggest city, whenever I drive there and stop for fuel (or anywhere for that matter ) I always have the iphone paparazzi surrounding the car and asking questions. Everyone in the town where I live is now basically used to the fact there is a Delorean cruising around and I don't get hassled at all, which makes a really nice change. I had a perfect driving record right up until the point when I did about 85mph coming out of some overtaking lanes and some approaching cops saw me, The cop that pulled me over was cool about it and listed my ticked speed as 20 mph less than what he caught me going, He even mentioned I had a perfect driving record right up until then. When he came up to the car I was just totally honest and said, "yeah, you got me", even the cop said "hey, you nearly made it to 88" and I just said "well if it wasn't for you guys I probably would have". He radioed for other police in the area to come and they all had their pictures taken with the car. I had worked as a muscle car chauffeur/driver which is why I needed a perfect driving record, the insurance company wouldn't cover anyone that had been ticketed for certain things and I was regularly driving cars worth in excess of 100 grand, since I wasn't interested in doing that kind of work again I didn't really feel the need to be Mr perfect citizen anymore. I gave up the muscle car driving job because the company I worked for decided to stop worrying about things like stuff falling off their cars or having working brakes on all their vehicles, I almost died with two clients because of the brakes failing on a 650 hp Ford Shelby GT replica. I wasn't even told the brake booster was faulty and the master needed to be replaced, I threatened to sue but just quit instead. Now I don't care, I drive like I stole it.
@Tom999 Thanks for sharing your story. I completely understand your motives for moving away from all the attention, and it's awesome that you seem to be happy and enjoying your car. This reminds me of the fact that the only Delorean I've ever seen driving "in the wild" was in the middle of nowhere Kansas headed the other direction on a highway. It makes sense that not all Delorean owners want attention.
