game crashes after i open it!

    hello, i just purchased beamng.drive and i wanted to play it but when i load into a map it crashes! i do not know why this happens, help!

    specs:
    xeon w3520
    xfx gtx 280
    8gb of ram

    That GPU is... old man... that is some history right there, take notes kids! the GPU could be playing a factor in this because of its age.

    Windows 7, that's perfect, if you downloaded on steam, right click the game in steam, then go to properties then under local files, click on "Verify game cache"

    if that still fails, then I'm sure that a moderator will comment soon :)

    i verified game cache and it said all the files were successfully validated, also the game opens and gets to the menu but when i load in a map you can see the speedometer appear for a second then disappear

    try going into the Apps Menu in BeamNG.Drive menu and then delete all of the apps then get them again.

    im running version 0.4.3.0.1413 and i dont see an apps menu

    Go to settings and then go to gameplay then click Advanced Settings, there should be an Apps menu.

    theres only a background color changer, dark theme and disable collision options. theres also enable advanced functions and unit system

    Probably too weak computer, mines kinda good but can't run BeamNG well, because its 32bit...

    I FIXED IT! i just changed the settings in beta in the steam properties. it runs pretty well acctually

    it is now running on 0.4.0.6, i guess there was an issue with the update? i don't know

    Opt out of the beta, let the game update to 0.4.3.0 again, go back the menu you were in, enable "advanced functions", load a map, open the sidebar and search for UI Editor. Click the plus icon and select the "AI Control" app.

    EDIT: Disregard this post, I got my threads mixed up.

    The "beta" is DirectX 9. Your GPU doesn't support DX11, what BeamNG has used since that version of the game.
