What you should be worried about is why it got so hot in the first place.. I know Macs have some of the worst cooling around, but thats just stupidly hot for video decoding, nevermind something like a stress test....
It annoys me so much when apple puts out computers with bad coolers, why do they allow consumers to purchase high end hardware if they can't get the full potential out of it because it just thermal throttles, I rather get 15% more performance out of my very expensive mac over just a little but more noise, and if you are using the full power of the computer, you're probably playing a game or rendering something, so you'd either would be listening to the game or you would be listening to music while rendering or you could be up and away while the pc is under stress, and there are options to have silent cooling while having max performance! Apple are one of the best innovators for tech (iphone, ipad, first mac, etc) so surely, they can make a goddamn cooling solution. I'm not dissing mac, but they really need to fix their damn cooling issues.
so i found a 42" sanyon vizon plasma tv on craigslist for 50 bucks. doesnt turn on. I am good at repair capacitors. Do you guys think its a good buy? i really dont know.
Well, if you fix it then you have just gotten a 42" tv for $50, and if you don't fix it, then use the screen to transmit sun rays onto small objects and melt them.
It needs to be curved. It's not CRT. I love doing that to ants. Although I usually end up dripping candle wax or the molten burning plastic off a straw.
Darn, still, its $50, its 50/50 chance and a fun project. and if it is 720p... why not replace the screen with a 1080p one, another cool project
I've asked these kinds of questions millions of times, but what fps do you think the intel i3 4170 would give on the demolition derby scenario? I'm going to also get an r7 360, as I'm on a super tight budget and high settings without SSAO and whatever else there is don't really matter to me. Sorry and thanks.
It has four threads, but only two cores. Four threads should be just enough to run four vehicles fine. However, even my i7 3770 sometimes stutters in the demolition derby scenario..
I cant imagine it will be that great to be honest. Also the settings only really effect GPU usage. So if you are using integrated graphics or a low end GPU it may also be an issue. But an R7 360 should be able to handle it if/when you get that.
Guys, if I was to go for an EVGA 650w PSU, would I be better off paying 20-30 euro more to get the G2 instead of the G1 or should I just get the G1? Also, this is the system I'm willing to get ( hopefully on christmas ) but is 650w roughly enough? I might get 16GB instead of 8GB RAM. *LINK* I might also change specs a little ( ex. to get a 380x when it comes out instead of a 390 if it's slightly over my final budget )
I've been waiting for 2 days for my computer to get it's November update and it never got it...I upgraded to it when it came out and "Defer Upgrades" is disabled. I'm currently doing the third option to get it, and it's using the Windows 10 Upgrade tool that was originally meant for 7/8.x, this option is from Microsoft btw.
Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit. I just finished using the upgrade tool and it seemed to work. It's on build 10586 now.
Hey look it's me. If I'm luck, I might get a upgrade during the end of the year (finally...). I was thinking of getting a 6600, Z170-DELUXE and 8GB of DDR4 for 400€. Is there anything better in the range of 400€?
