Will some of these features be added to the game at some point?

I was wondering if the devs had some of these features in mind:
Rain/Snow + Slippery Terrain when raining and Windshield wipers!
Cold Start / Starting Battery Voltage?
    Racing
    Leaking fluids
    seized engine
    Temperatures affect car w/ gauge
    Better gas simulation
    Derby
Opening Doors / Hood / Trunk / etc
    Thanks!

I'm not a dev, but I've been keeping up to date here for a while so I'll give it a shot.

    1) Hopefully, but it's probably a long way off. They've been fiddling with rain for a while now and given their drive towards realism I'm sure that they will make weather as realistic as possible. Wipers would be difficult to properly implement from my understanding of the game, but If they add rain, they'd better add wipers if they want us to survive it.

    2) Maybe. It all depends on how much we start and stop vehicles in the campaign. It wouldn't be too crazy to add conditions to starting for engine/ambiant temp and battery life, so it wouldn't surprise me if they did.

    3) Yes. We had the pre-race update in preparation for it, so it would stand to reason that we will get racing in the future. The current hurdles are AI and optimization.

    4) Probably. They have stated that they intend to add drive train damage in the future and fluids are pretty important to keep a motor happy. I wouldn't expect to see any "slow leak" system, but if we smash a radiator or crush the oil pan they might choose to show that by having the fluids pool on the ground after the accident. I will say that it would be rare to do these things without rendering the car immobile, so long term effects of fluid leakage would be mostly useless.

    5) Yes. See above. Seizing a motor would be unlikely unless you had a catastrophic bottom end failure, the car SEVERELY overheated, or if they have a "used car" system where you might buy a cheap car that has been poorly maintained. It would depend on how much freedom we get with engine modification and vehicle selection. Other than that I suppose you could money shift (shifting into a lower gear at the top of the rpm range) and blow the motor, but once again, it depends on how much freedom they give us. Allowing us to ruin a car with a bad shift would be pretty frustration.

    6) Yes. Once again, this is something that they have said will be added in time. This would directly correspond to an engine damage system.

    7) Having talked with estama, the gas simulation in this game is excellent already, so that's already here.

    8) Almost certainly. They would need to make the cars less prone to sticking together, but other than that this would be about as difficult to add as racing, and demo derbys are pretty much perfect for a game like this. There are already mods for derbys by the way. The AI still falls a bit short, but the general concept is there.

    9) If you mean a way to open things without damaging the car, probably not. Gabestar has addressed this before and didn't sound like he approved of the idea. It would be, admittedly, pretty pointless, but who knows.

That's as much as I know. Hoped it helped.

9 actually has been done on a few vehicles. Mostly Russian mods, but the box trucks have animated rear doors I believe.

True, I hadn't thought of those since they actually serve a purpose (never seen a mod that lets you open all the doors, but then again I don't use Russian mods)

There are a few Russian mods that allow you to pop open the hood, trunk, and doors by using the parking brake. Honestly annoying, but it does prove that it may be possible to do individual parts as seen in rigs of rods.

They put so much craftsmanship into these cars that It would be cool to have a showroom of sorts that let you open things. The engines have never looked super amazing, but the interiors are always pretty. I don't think we'll see it as something you can do while driving, but they may choose to let you do it in a garage or something.

I think the real issue is going to be animation VS moving nodes/beams effectively for certain parts.
The framework is there, just the key options I dont think are really there yet. Rigs of Rods uses the F-keys to do certain things in the vehicle, while beamNG uses normal keys on the keyboard, like 'F' or 'E'

In a campaign mode it might be nice to have the customization done on a car that has no node/beam structure. By that I mean the customization would show you what the car would look like without bothering with nodes and beams and reloading the vehicle every time parts change. Whatever you change would get saved to the car and it would load all of the new parts in an actual node/beam car when you left the menu (or shop or whatever they go with). That would eliminate the need to add a bunch of hydros if they also let you open things in that environment. They wouldn't even need to modify jbeams to accommodate latches in that scenario.

Yeah the keyboard would get awfully crowded if they gave you too much control over the car as a whole in-game, so I would doubt that we'd get quite the level controls that rigs of rods had. Since the function keys already have uses in beamng, using them for a slew of other stuff wouldn't really work out.

This is all speculation of course...

Yes. THats exactly what we need for car customization. The current system is just really a pain to use. Its useful and works, but it needs to be improved. Doing the work outside of the game would be so much more efficient to customize a car and save part configs. All the games I have played that offer car customization usually do it outside of the actual gameplay.
So its a good idea to add it.

I would quite like an ability to customise parts eg how tall a wing is or how low the car is or rim size. I know this might be asking to much but I think it would make this game amazing...
