It has to be like that. There can only be one color set as the background color (for some reason part of the bumper is untextured). If I match colors, the spoiler, which has unmapped parts, would be messed up.
I have the file installed correctly and it shows up in the parts menu, but when I try to apply it the car just turns to a blue color. Help?
Thanks for sharing this and the Norton racing skin. I have used these skins into my Industial Rallycross scenario (which you can find here). If I have your permission, then I will add them into the next version of it. It really adds value to the gameplay of this scenario. If it’s ok for you, then I will add a copy of the skin files into the scenario zip file, so everyone will be able to play this scenario without having to worry about downloading the correct skins first. I have tested it, and it seems to work for people who don’t have this skin on their PC, as well as those who already downloaded it. I will add you to the credits together with a link to the skin mod pages.
Just link to this mod in your own mod description, that way A) people can decide if they want the skins themselves and B) the author of the skins actually gets credits and traffic. The same is true for the Covet skins you use.
I thought of that too, but if I do it that way, then the scenario will not work until people have downloaded the correct skins. The scenario should be working for everyone by just placing the zip into their mods folder, independently if they have downloaded these skins or not. I'ts also written that way into the guidelines. I'm agree about B). It will be complex for the users to know who deserves the credits. But you can solve that by adding the credits together with a clear link to those skin mods, to the mod description where you use them. I must admit that i am in some indecision with this. I will wait further reactions about this, especially from the authors of the skins, to make a decision. But it's gonna be either a full zip with the skinfilles included or a version with the basic skin and colors.
Unless I'm gravely mistaken, if you configure the mods to use the skins and the user doesn't have the skins installed, the mod will still work, just without the skins showing.
Spoiler: Original Text I have tried it, and beside all cars having the same white color, they also spawn with their default configuration. In my case the Sunbursts where suddenly slower than the Covet so the opponents hit into each other and getting stuck immediately. Edit: I must correct myself. What I have written yesterday is not true, so I placed it under the Original Text button. It was happening when I called a non existing car configuration and not by calling a non existing skin. When calling a non existing skin into a scenario, then that car has only a white color. Apart from this, everything functions normal so Scepheo was right about this.
