Just curious if anybody has any insight on this. With the exception of the Hirochi, almost all the included vehicles are 70's - 90's models. Why is the game so focused on this particular era of vehicles? Personally I'd like to see a modern Euro/Asian sedan/coupe, late-model SUVs (small/medium/large), a late-model mivivan, etc. Thoughts?
Sunburst is 2013, SBR4 is 2015, and the ETK 800 is coming in a few updates, and it's a very recent model year. It's because the developers want to include a wide variety of cars, so there's the muscle car, the boaty 70s car, the featherweight econobox, etc. Also, most modern cars are very much the same, FWD four cylinder four doors with ESC and plastic everything. I think most people here like cars from different eras more than modern cars, just as I do personally.
No need to worry, there is an ETK-branded modern German wagon being developed right now and I'm sure the BeamNG team has a lot more prepared for us in the future. I don't really mind older vehicles in the game (I currently prefer them), so I think it's a matter of opinion.
Considering what BeamNG performs at best I wouldn't want a bunch of eco bullshit vehicles that consist of a material that melts. Bring on all the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's vehicles you want!
*cough*OLD CARS RULE*cough* It's more because they want to include cars from all kinds of eras and classes to show you how "crashworthy" Different chassis types, Different Material Types, Different Classes etc. were.
There's lots of modern unofficial vehicles -- Audi, VW, Subarus etc. Personally I like the 90s vehicles best as they were the ones I grew up riding in and driving.
I had never thought of a minivan. Now I know what my favourite car in BeamNG will be; early 90s import minivan. Mmmmm, 90HP and a huge hulking body.
mid engine rwd just like a Ferrari we do have a few that are in development like the Wendover and he old etk (yuppie mobile 3000) but we could do with a small 80s Japanese pickup like the mazda b series. oh and you forgot about the Covet which was made in the mid/late 80s.
