The app is using a third-party library to scan the QR code. Can you try if the camera works in this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.zxing.client.android Thanks :)

    Yes: https://github.com/BeamNG/remotecontrol/issues/2

That's new, thanks for reporting :) I've created an issue on GitHub for it: https://github.com/BeamNG/remotecontrol/issues/6

I'm glad to here that :)

You did all these tests on the same WiFi network, right?

    Interesting. Thanks for the screen-shots.

    I think that's an Android 4 bug: https://github.com/BeamNG/remotecontrol/issues/4
Luckily I know someone with a Galaxy S3 Mini running Android 4, should be relatively easy to fix :)

Thank you for testing it with multiple devices!

Good catch! I've created an issue report for it: https://github.com/BeamNG/remotecontrol/issues/7

Windows Firewall may forbid BeamNG.drive to listen on a UDP port. Try to disable it for the game.

The only thing I can think of now, is that a file of BeamNG.drive on the PC is corrupted. Can you try to launch the game with a fresh profile (e. g. on a different Windows user account or a different PC) and let Steam validate the game files? Thank you and sorry for the troubles with the app!

Installing the game to another PC now.
Also, I have verified the game multiple times using steam on this PC.

    @hmR-
I have the EXACT same problem.

The new app is awesome. Makes it much more fun.
I have a controller as well but this is fun in its own way. Easy to steer as well. Love it!

    - Using Motorola Moto X 2014.

Seems to work fine on my SONY Xperia M (Android 4.3)
The scanner image does glitch up, but it works. Not sure if anything else is happening that's considered a bug.
It's only "all or nothing" for the accelerator and brakes, right?

The app you linked works fine. Tried reinstalling the remote app, no luck. At least it works on my older device
Edit: Where to download the apk? For devices with no gplay?

So I've been playing a bit with the BeamNG App and using my phone as a controller is definitely fun. I was actually surprised my old phone is being supported. Here's my suggestions.

The first thing I want to ask is whether it would be possible to code a system that detects whether your phone is being turned around more than 90° and act like a real steering wheel, where you can choose the max degrees. An option and finetuning for dynamic steering would be nice as well.

The second request would be the ability to adjust how much percent of the throttle/brakes is being applied. I envisioned it to work like this:
    30019024_PIC-H_Dfront.jpg

As you can see, the position of your thumbs would regulate how much throttle/braking power is being applied. With some deadzone both at the very top and bottom, this should work fine. As a bonus, you could use those buttons marked in blue as a sequential transmission. I believe you can reprogram those buttons, if I'm not mistaken.

Other than that, I'm not exactly sure how to make multiplayer work when two guys are playing on their phone. There needs to be a possibility of assigning phones with the PC to a specific vehicle in the demolition derbies, unless I missed such an option.

Yes, i was on the same WIFI network.

Windows firewall was disabled (the service was disabled), i renable it and added rules but the tacho isn't working.

I have a weird bug now. The input blink really fast. they go to the good value and them stay a 0 for half a second

I will try on another computer to see if there is any different.

did you see the Connect button on the tablet screenshot??
This button isn't doing anything when i click it.

Thanks again everybody for testing the app!

Are you using the 32 bit or the 64 bit version of the game? Can you also tell me your Windows version and if you have any third-party firewall/virus scanners installed?
As more and more people are reporting this, I've created a bug report for it: https://github.com/BeamNG/remotecontrol/issues/8

What do you mean by "glitch up"?

    Yes.

That's strange and I have no idea why the camera won't work in the app, sorry. Thanks for trying anyway :)

It's something I thought about, too :) I'll test if it makes sense. Don't know about reprogramming the buttons though, as there are so many different phones, it would be a lot of work. But I like the idea! Gear up and down buttons are definitely planned.

That should already be possible. Connecting multiple phones is also planned for the next upgrade :)

That's a pity :( But I think I already know where that delay comes from and hope to fix that in the next upgrade.

No, I missed it, thanks. I will try to get my hands on an Android tablet to test the app with it :)

My computer is running Norton Premier 360 and I gave BeamNG.drive full permissions in the firewall settings + I entered the MAC-Adress from my smartphone to Norton, so it doesn't block my Samsung Galaxy S6, but the problem I had before is still there that the HUD is "frozen".

When the scanner opens, the image has vertical lines through it for a few seconds.
