What does fire actually do?

I have been burning a car for 5 minutes and the car still drives flawlessly, except for the tires ofcourse. Does the engine stop or will the windows break or something like that?

On a side note, water extinguishes the flames, awesome. Sadly the fire doesn't catch onto things, like other cars and vegetation

 

no the fire is only cosmetic for now.

 

Technically you are wrong, as for it pops the tires.
But for now it only does just that, so other than the tires, you're correct.

 

For me, it wasn't just tires. After 7 minutes or so burning and driving, the car exploded and was no longer driveable. The engine was kaput. I'm just hoping that they put in some cosmetic fire damage i.e. charring, etc.

 

Fire can spread to the gas tank and cause explosions.
