I searched for something similar and found a similar discussion, but I thought it would be a good Idea to bring it up again. First, a bug. some water, such as the water in maps like dry rock island, do have a resistive effect on a vehicle, meaning it does slow the car down. when a river is added to a map, however, it does not have the same effect. A few suggestions- being in shallow water should cause the vehicle to have less control, like driving through a puddle. driving quickly into shallow water should cause hydroplaning or a similar effect. engines should cut off if the air intake becomes submerged, and bog down if the exhaust is submerged. modifications for off-road vehicles such as snorkels, to help with water crossings. water interaction animation- ripples, splashing, etc. If these features or similar ones were implemented, I think the feeling of reality would improve and help this to become a more realistic simulation. I also want to give my sincere thanks to all of the Devs and Content Creators! EDIT: Another cool feature would be currents in rivers, mountain streams, etc. EDIT 2: to fix the non-interactive river problem, set the density to 1000 and the viscosity to 0.1
Only the water splashing and ripple part would be... The car car bogging and dying and hydroplaning is actually a great idea, especially for a physics game, and it wouldn't eat FPS, as long as it stays optimized, especially since it's probably lua scripting
