    hey guys,

so I have been following this game for quite a while now and decided to be a "full" member of this great community. With it comes all the questions left unanswered to me that I'll ask now.
I haven't bought the game yet for many reasons. (don't cringe or laugh or whatever) I own a mac and that's all I have. Now, I don't wanna get into the bootcamp/parallel, wine business and since I'm patient, I'll wait for the OS X version to come out. the question now is when could it come out as so?
Also, if i buy it, I know i can do it here, in which case i'll ask "once the OS X version comes out, will I need to buy it again?" Or, there's Steam, which is all nice since it'll download it according to the platform anyways. Now my question is on this: will it be a separate program that doesn't need Steam launched to be played?
I've only got a few games on Steam and this is what it systematically does.

I know this is all a bit messy but thanks in advance!

i wouldnt expect macs to be able to run BeamNG in the first place, due to the system requirements. a mac that can run BeamNG would be very expensive. but when/if it is released on mac, it won't be separate store item, because it is sold through steam, that isnt required.

it is not being ported to mac currently.

parallels is insufficient. Boot camp is current only way to play on mac and will probably remain so

you will only need to buy it once. You can use your order form later to get the game, but I would buy the game now because the price is going up. When I bought the game it was $15 not $20.

    otherwise thank you guys
i know it would have been a better idea to have a windows in the first place. But for practical reasons, i need a Mac. how's bootcamp working on a Mac though? i never dared to try this thing

It's alright, as long as this conversation remains as constructive as possible, i'm fine

bootcamp essentially splits your hard drive in 2 (or can use a second drive if you have one) and allows you to reboot from OSX into windows. Unlike parallels, its not running it atop OSX, it natively runs it as the only OS currently on the machine, you can then reboot back from windows to OSX later. It is literally just running windows on apple hardware.

Although personally I can only find 1 practical reason to own a mac. And that is iOS or OSX software development.

I've got mine because the school i'm in has an apple contract, pretty much cutting the price in two. so everyone has a Macbook that they bring to school.

I'll try to bootcamp it if i can then, thanks

yeah, i don't know. I've just seen another thread saying that the developers will be porting Beam to Linux and then OS X so that got me a little too excited

Would be a damn old thread. Last word is that so few people on steam (the main platform for the game) have macs (about 10% or less) that its not worth the extra dev time required to support such a tiny minority, linux is even smaller.
