Yeah, Opels and Vauxhalls are very reliable. And they seem to have some very nice gimmicks.
    Viva la Europe!

What, Opel? It's owned by GM for a long time already.
And also, look at the old Opel Kapitän A (captain). It has freaking rear wings (sorta at least, it became noticable in the next 10-20 years).

You probably just got unlucky, if they were as bad as you think they wouldn't be some of the most popular car brands sold in the UK and Europe.

I am yet to encounter an Opel owner that hasn't had an issue with their vehicle. Considering a friends mums meriva has spontaneously gone up in flames....

Do you have one? And which?
EDIT: No offense, but it's typically pretty hard to make a car catch on fire.

I had one. Stepdad had one. We had one as a hire car.

all 3 had issues. The hire car broke down. The corsa was a timebomb that went off repetedly. The insignia went in for about 5 or 6 warranty repairs

That is weird. Extremely weird even. I haven't heard of something that extreme before.
Have you tried buying a Ford and looking what happens?

I replaced the corsa with a ford actually. Put 5000 miles on it without anything going wrong bar brake pads wearing out. We've had a fiesta and a Mondeo before, no issues on either.

Ended. (I don't know why Opels turn into time bombs as soon as they go over the border)

My mother has one, 1989. Doesn't look as nice as that one though.

My mate's parents have a 53 (halfway through 2003 for you non-brits) registered Vauxhall Zafira (A model, so no fires like the B model), and it has never broken down. Only problems have been a puncture and not filling the tank enough for a journey. It is more reliable than my parents 10 reg Nissan Cube, which so far, the media console (sat nav, radio) is completely dead, and has been faulty from purchase, the battery lasted 6 months on it, some mornings it just won't start.

The rear end of this car without a doubt is a Dodge Dynasty and other GM C body vehicles. The front takes cues form the aforementioned cars but not entirely. Boy I can't wait to crash this into Cuddy's house.

    (If anyone gets my reference....)

I'm looking forward to this car, I like old cars like this and the Wendover.

I hope that it comes with a landau top that only covers the rear half of the roof when it is released. :)

I think a mid 80s Buick somerset regal resembles this car more.
