Never had a gaming pc. Really want to build but never done this. So I'm not 100% sure about all the parts like the motherboard. How does this one look?

    http://pcpartpicker.com/p/7zd9bv

I'm looking to run BeamNG.drive on 60fps at normal at least. Most new games as well. This is a start and I'm willing to go to$1500 if necessary.

Looks pretty respectable, good processor choice and good GPU choice too

but why not go dual channel 16GB instead man :)

But I agree you need a little more power go as suggested going to a Corsair Digital AX860i that should be ideal for that setup

Ok I though it said the system was 321W so I thought 500W was enough.

So you suggest 16GB memory, but what is dual channel?

*Sighs* I did a google search on this....

"Dual-channel architecture DDR/DDR2/DDR3 SDRAM describes a motherboard technology that effectively doubles data throughput from RAM to the memory controller. Dual-channel-enabled memory controllers utilize two 64-bit data channels, resulting in a total bandwidth of 128-bits, to move data from RAM to the CPU."

There is also quad channel memory which is what I run but I am running a 5th Generation Processor...see my signature

if you want a more simple version it increases the bus width so you can get faster throughput I may not have explained this well enough @SixSixSevenSeven can you help explain this in a little more understandable language to @A.J.99 please

Ok thanks man. Like I said I'm still learning about this stuff. So this system will do 60 fps normal on BeamNG do you think?

Ah okay I understand your still learning I have been doing this stuff on and off for 10 years, and it should do well at normal if you were to spend more money go for a 980Ti which is far better performance but it costs far more...

Dual channel. 2 sticks of RAM running in parallel. There is also such thing as triple and quad channel memory for most of us usually only encounter dual channel.

8gb dual channel would be 2 sticks of 4gb each. Its a little speedier is all. Most of us can very safely get away with single channel although most of us are running dual.

Ok so I made a new build and added all the suggestions. It's a little more But I changed the graphics to GTX 980 ti. Would the processor be enough or need an upgrade ?

If you could go for an i7-6700K that would be a little better BUT the drawback would be it would push you over the $1500 limit...

I tweaked your build slightly I said no more than $1750

    Parts Swapped:
i7-6700K instead of i5-6600K (slightly more powerful)
Corsair AX860i instead of Corsair CX750 (That CX750 is bronze rated the 860i is gold rated
Pioneer BDR-209DBK (Blu-Ray) instead of Asus DRW-24-F1ST (we dont use DVDs anymore its Blurays now)
Windows 10 Pro instead of Windows 10 Home because Pro is MUCH better :)

    http://pcpartpicker.com/p/64DwRB

    total cost: $1724.91

I am sorry about the extra cost involved, but if you want performance you have to spend more to get it...

Power supply is Overkill I have an 5820k and a gtx 980 and it is uses ca. 400-450 max. So 500 or 550 watts are more than enough !

    Hi there !
You might consider adding a second GTX970 in the future. If so, a 750W PSU must be enough. If not, 500W is fine.
When I run a full stress test on both CPU (i7 5820 oced to 4,4 GHz [3,3 Ghz stock]) and GPU (one GTX 970 Phantom stock clock), the peak consumption never exceed 540W (measured at plug, including a 27" 21/9 screen, leds, G25, and sound)...

Make sure you buy good parts.
