Guess the AMA is over. I don't feel like we got a whole lot of insight, but there were a couple interesting nuggets. From the AMA it sounds like the new update will have 'drag' and 'skybox' features? I'm not familiar with either of those, can someone elaborate?
Drag, in Ror you could use the mouse to click and drag vehicles about. Skybox is literally the box the sky is drawn on. Aka, the sky you see in game. While the skyboxes in game are alright (far far far from great) it seems they might be getting improved.
The skybox feature used to work in BeamNG but was rendered useless by the new cubemap scheme used for global reflections and dynamic reflections...I believe. Skyboxes are a static 6 sided cube that 'wraps' the environment/map and use textures to simulate a photo realistic 360 degree sky. They have drawbacks and cannot be animated like the current clouds in BeamNG however they are really cool when implemented right.
