This is two suggestions rolled into one. The first being that the Moonhawk and the Barstow drag need two things. 1) Roll Cages. it is essential in racing for any car that quick to have a roll cage and i think they would be a great addition into the game so that when you do crash, it doesn't just flatten the roof. 2) Turbos. They are coming up in most cars and a lot of mods have them too, so why not add them into these cars. The blowers are cool but turbos sound nice and also give you the freedom of adjusting boost etc to make the car launch harder/be faster.
1) A rollcage is definetly missing 2) Have you ever seen an american dragster with a turbo? Maybe something european or japanese, but not american
1) I agree 2) Design choice, turbo setups are complicated on V8s (either twin turbo or a fancy piping is needed) and for the most part american muscle cars are supercharged, not turbo charged. Honestly it's a good idea, but I'd rather the devs work on other things than more forced induction choices.
Umm.. many american cars use twin turbo setups, the 3 fastest street cars do... here is an example. --- Post updated --- Either way, whether or not the SC is kept, I would like to be able to adjust the boost so that I can get more power out of them to do a proper wheelstand etc
From the NHRA rule book: " SECTION 6B - TOP DRAGSTER Requirements and specifications for Top Dragster are the same as those for Top Sportsman - Section 6A - with the following exceptions: Class is for dragster and open-bodied altered-type vehicles only. Qualified fields with competition conducted in a di al-in E.T. format. Minimum 6.00-second dial-in; maximum 7.70-second di al-in (eighth-mile, 3.66 to 4.99 seconds). Now to everyone freaking out because I said dragsters have no turbos: I was wrong. I don't know much about them, now I know better. I got it, ok?
I think drag racing would be great for BeamNG. Only two cars racing so it helps keep up performance. Simple AI (straight line and avoidance). The complicated part would be getting the rule mechanics, christmas tree, and some other odds and ends working right. A roll cage is a must, of course. The Barstow and Moonhawk definitely need that. BeamNG also has tire flex, so it would be neat to see them simulate this:
It sort of happens already, but in a lower resolution scale. Having it to look exactly like in the picture above would be out of question probably, if we want to keep the simulation in real time
Having a drag racing (scenario or a "drag" mode in the upcoming campaign), would be awesome. beam would pull in the whole drag racing scene (gaming wise) as the closest thing we have to drag racing in a current gen game, is Forza 5-6 and that in itself is not close realistic at all.. (and its on xbox) I know I would be more addicted to beam if this was to ever implemented lol. I could dream all day.. 2 car online drag racing or even AI..
That's pretty damn good actually. So Nadeox1, will we see some drag strips with timing elements make their way to BeamNG? That would be wonderful!
the forza games dont do drag racing any kind of justice. not enough grip the tires just suck. on extreme summer tires i still couldnt get a car that should run low 14s to do any better than 15.5. BEAMNG! BEAMNG!
Remember Burnout Championship Drag racing? Came out in the late 90s and had an amazing amount of features. Nothing close since.
ill have to check that out. im not super into drag racing but i do enjoy hitting the 1320 once in a while. none of the street racing in nyc involves any kind of turning whatsoever so its a take it or leave it kind of thing.
