Yeah, it's sort of a remake of RoR but much better and more accurate. RoR was made in 2005 and was aimed at being a truck simulator if I'm correct. Also, I think RoR didn't even have soft body physics at first. (Don't quote me on that) Also, this is the first game you didn't pirate? Man, just buy the games. If you wait for them to get cheaper or go on sale it's not even that much and is much easier and safer than piracy.

this is only better than ror because gabester is actually working on a lot of the mods and i just built a 1500 dollar computer im not in the mood for paying 20- 30 dollars for steam games and ive never got a virus before

Gabester is one of the devs so they're technically not mods. My computer was less than $400 and I can pay for my own games. YOU OBVIOUSLY CAN AFFORD GAMES.

What? No way! That's amazing! You are definitely one of the smartest members on this forum. I knew that the developers had the same name as the ones from RoR, and noticed that the first video says "From the team behind Rigs of Rods," but I assumed it was a typo. Thanks for pointing out such a stunning and mind-blowing fact. I'm a big fan of spectacular observations like this. Allow me to share some other surprising facts.

Thanks again for pointing that out eroc1970. We would've never reached such a conclusion about this game.

    Wait, what?

Are you trying to link Steam with the fact that *one time* you got a virus? That's like saying I caught a cold while I was in a car, I should obviously never set foot in a car again, right?

The fact that you could afford a $1500 computer (or so you say), makes it worse that you pirate games. You obviously have the money to warrant paying for them, so why aren't you?

Because people worked for a living making those games, and need paying for it?

Perhaps because the developers need income to support themselves and their families after devoting countless hours into producing a quality game? I absolutely despise people like you. You brag about how much money you spent on your computer, yet don't want to spend money on games. Stop being such an ass and give those game developers the money they deserve. We already have over 7 billion humans here, and we could honestly do just fine without you.

It's not exactly the cost of the PC that makes it ridiculous, it's just the fact that he spent that much on a PC yet doesn't pay for games.

So much misinformation in this thread.

Rigs of Rods was a product of the original Beam engine, which was an experiment for soft body physics. Rigs of Rods version 0.35 introduced 3D mesh models, which have absolutely nothing to do with physics in Rigs of Rods or Beamng. It's just a visual tweak. Watch this video to understand why the Beam engine and softbody physics are unique:

Gabster produces content but did not write the code for Beamng, which is what simulates the soft body physics. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the code was written by a different set of developers. Gabster made content for Rigs of Rods as well, but the new program simulates it better.

On this topic to the comparison of the game Rigs of Rods and BeamNG Drive a would say that this game has, obviously better graphics as you have pointed out, but also does a MUCH (In my opinion of course) better job of capturing a simulation of a real vehicle hitting a barrier at 60 MPH. When i tell my friends about Rigs of Rods I say "Hey look at this quirky little game, Funny right?". Then I would show them BeamNG Drive and say "look at this awesome technical innovation of a real car simulator with a soft body physics engine, Would it not be awesome to see these physics in other car game that we love?"
As for the piracy topic, I stand between eroc1970 who as we can tell, is all for piracy, and 0-60in2.9sec who is against piracy.
On the terms of against piracy I strongly agree with 0-60in2sec, overall I believe it causes more bad then good, In certain situations. In your case you should buy the games if you can afford a $1500 PC. I personally never have pirated never will pirate. however many people i know and respect have pirated things before but for better reasons.
In this video Gabe Newell from Valve discusses piracy and how its not as big of an issues as many believe it is and how it is usually the content creators fault.
many of the people i mentioned above cannot afford to purchase any games and thus pirate them which is no loss of sale to the producer since they cant afford it anyway, or pirate them until they are released where they live (like Gabe said with the Russians) and then buy them later. Just to reiterate you really should have no excuse for not buying games if your PC could cost as much as it did. but then maybe you do and just want to start a flame war and if so hopefully someone else here will use this Info to get a better understanding of piracy and how it can be both good and bad.

Confessed to piracy. They have your personal data from purchase. Expect police
