Hello I was looking underneath the new ETK Wagon and noticed that there is two heat shielded paths for exhausts to go through. However the only engine options currently are the I4 or I6 which both have the exhaust on the right hand side of the car. This makes me wonder why there is two heatshielded paths and the tunnel is wide enough for at least two pipes. Will there be a larger engine option in the future ? Maybe a V8 or V10 seeing as it's an ETK...
As the ETK is a representation of BMW 3-series, I doubt it will get anything more than a V8. Even the new M3 has an I6 turboed-engine under the hood.
in an m5 yes. M3 less likely. But then this is an etk anyway, so maybe --- Post updated --- bmw 3 and 5 series have had them before. Not too unbelievable. when I first saw underside pics I just assumed the 4 engines might have exhausts on different sides
In the configuration selection screen they keep saying "touring model" on each configuration and they're all called 854/856. I wouldn't be surprised if there would be 84X (sedan) and even 82X (coupe) versions in the future. Since the ttSport and ttSport+ don't really seem like the equivalent of an M car ("only" 332hp) it's not unlikely (to me at least) it'll be like BMW where the sedan and couple come in performance trim (M for BMW) and they might have a V8 like the E9x BMWs. But that's all just guessing right now.
The naming system that they chose struck me as odd too, seeing as the "800 series" consisted of only two models (with various trim packages). Just like 6677 I assumed that the heat shielding was for opposite side exhaust on the 4-banger, but since that isn't so I think you're onto something with a dev made sedan/coupe version in the works with some form of V configuration engine. To be honest I was a little surprised that it didn't already have a V8 option.
Seeing as It's basically an M5 more or less. I'm banking on the V10. but seeing as it's circa 2013 or so if there was a larger engine to be released it would more than likely be a twin turbo V8.
its proboly the way it is modelled because he mirrors it and only actually sculpts one side.... I think
it's closer in size to a 3 series I think. But the last gen m3 got a v8 so doesn't really exclude a v8 from this car. Plus this is etk not bmw
Not really. Also if you look in the DAE file there is a second exhaust pipe as well, just no engine or manifold that suits it. So there most likely is a V engine coming at some point and it's not just laziness
Or or maybe they troll us and it gets a turbo i3 with the exhaust and intake and opposite sides from the i4/i6 as a new base model
