How to grab a vehicle

    How do you grab nodes as shown in the update video? I can't seem to figure it out and it isn't explained.

    nothing happens when I hold and click with either ctrl key

    nvm it was unassigned

    Hold CTRL, hover over the car, and click and drag a dot.

    hello :p yes hold left ctrl + mouse to drag vehicles and mid wheel mouse to change spring or foce.


    i have a question, can edit the force of grabber? max is 2540 kg , like more force :S any txt or lua files to edit the grab force? thanks :D

    Yes, you can change the force of the node grabber by simply using your mouse scroll wheel. Scroll forward adds more force while scrolling backwards decrease the force.

    The mass stays at 2551kg no matter how high i set the force i think that's what davikasy was trying to figure out as i am also seeking the force in kg not the spring rate.. i wanna be able to rip a motor out and 2500kg is not enough id rather grab a node with higher weight force then speed... i don't want to throw the car across map i wanna force a part off the car with just weight not spring... anything above 10,000-50,000kg with a low spring rate

    I know, I want to be able to grab the engine bay after a crash and snap the nodes back into their somewhat original form. I will likely need 20k or more for that.

    I been looking through all the lua and system related files for the game im not sure were to fine the setting...weight is everything..... i cant lift anything over the 2551kg limit on my end this should be a quick easy fix since it was limited to that quickly to get it into the game.... no way changing the mass limit can take an entire 60 day update its has to be a file non of us have even though to look at..the witch hunt is on!

    whatever rigs of rods used to grab nodes was exactly the method i thought we would see... but i know we will see way better after a few days of correcting little things like that.. the rope is currently a rubber band not an extendable cable with winch strength quality as example... i know winches are just an update or two a away since this is possible... grabbing on to trees and tearing a motor out...also towing with a visible cable with or without collision so it doesn't get caught on bumpers and the usual beamng humor...awesome progress though to the devs and all staff to make this happen

    I think they want to limit the amount of people that don't understand the physics and insta complain about instability because they are slapping the car around at 700km/h back and forth.

    I don't think its instability as much to were they decided 2500kg/5511lbs was the limit of god.... you can put objects objects on cars at least and if your stuck you can get unstuck without reset

    I don't see how your argument is the solution.. I'm pretty sure I should be able to lift a 6000kg bolder if I want to.

    I'm pretty sure if you are making the cennection to god games, in this sandbox anything should be possible, why limit the potential by limiting the force below a reasonable level.

    I can't even snap nodes into place without just dragging the vehicle because I can't get enough immediately force when trying to do so.

    I know what your saying... when you grab a node the initial force is not enough, the force needed could be more blunt with a higher Mass to have that blunt force. 10,000-20,000kg may be enough so immediate force is available. so the entire car doesn't have the chance to move with the part your pulling off like a motor.. i cant rip the motor out of the covet not enough force. i had to weaken the motor mounts and still nothing... it takes a an insane impact into a tree and then using the node grabber u can get it out but it's still hard to do with 2500kg

    is there any way to couple two nodes and push them apart instead of pull them together?

    Nope, node-coupling is meant to work in one way (pull together)

    Is it possible to make bubbles dissepear? Like when you grab a vehicle and theb press the middle mouse button. I kinda want to remove them

    No, those are there so you don't forget that the node is 'fixed', and so that you can 'unfix' it easily.
    Although, they are not visible in replays.
