More than car destruction physics, but trees.

Short And simple idea. Add some destruction physics to things you hit with the car. Add some warping. This I know will be a long time to do but I think that would be more realistic to car destruction as well. A collapsing tree, a building has a hole in it, rocks are chopped up, I think that'd be pretty neat. Thanks for reading.

i think i understand what you mean. if youve ever played spin tires, then you know about their tree physics. the trees in spin tires will bend until a certain point where they come out of the ground.

google spin tires, if you dont know what that is

If you gave all trees physics you would probably get like 1 - 5 fps.

Well in spin tires they have these tree physics and an interacive, "muddy" terrain and spin tires doesn't lag. If you have a good computer, then it wouldn't lag in beamng drive to much, if at all

Spawn one of Gabe's barrels/street signs for every tree you want to deform. It gets problematic quick.

barrels and tyre stacks are made of simulated beams and nodes too which wouldnt be needed for the sort of dynamic tree interaction you see in spintires.

Nkosi is right, also they are considered a vehicle because you can tab into them, so your theory that spawning 1 street sign is equal to 1 tree with spin tires physics is wrong

seems like you know how to do it. wouldn't you like to join the devs with making this in the game?

seems like you assume stuff without background. wouldn't you like to think before posting ?

i was talking about the detail of deformation a stack of tires or barrel does show atm if you crush them ingame, that level of detail wouldnt be needed to achieve the effect you get if you interact with a dynamic tree in spintires. i was not saying you dont need to use beams and nodes to make it dynamic nor was i in any way suggesting how to do it, im sorry if my bad english might have looked like i did!
i wildly guess, now, you could do it with 2-4 nodes and 1-2 beams ? as long you can connect nodes to the terrain and make it brakeable.

Ok, for all who says that "imagine 1 thousand trees loading at the same time.." what if beamng only activates that "breakable trees" only when you're nearby?

It's a good idea, you should mention it to the owners.

ach, half of the problem would be solved with physics sleep, a fairly self explanatory feature. an object is "asleep" until you get too close and then the physics activates. would work well if the objects where spread over a large area. to be honest, going by how flimsy the concrete barrier is, it wouldn't be a bad thing to include collidable rigid body props in places which would reduce the load on the processor
