In terms of beamng my rig is pretty low end, HD 5770 is the bottleneck of... everything, in my rig currently but it runs the game "alrightish". I'll get over 30fps pretty much all of the time in detailed maps. It just looks fugly as hell. CPU could be better too for beamng too but its not too bad and is good enough to run multiple vehicles, as long as you stick to vehicles under the T series.
The only issue i have with the game is in open fields where there is lots of grass :/ also if your getting bad frames you should try running less intense maps. For example grid map i get 60 FPS but when i go to the race track i get 30
If you select windowed mode in settings, the FPS will increase. That's what I have to do to run on my computer. But maps with lots of trees, I need to avoid or my frame rates would be 2.
Windowed mode will actually negatively affect performance. The reason it runs better is because of the lower resolution. Lower the resolution in fullscreen and you'll get even better performance.
Just delete the trees in thee level editor. It may not look pretty, but it actually can make maps completely different, Jungle rock Island is really fun with no trees. Also, get rid of all vegetation, they are no collision, so removing them won't effect game play.
My computer gets about 30 FPS with lowest settings and disabling collision. Fine with me! (As of 0.5.2.1)
Doesn't that kind of defeat the point of a map called Jungle Rock Island? I'd rather stick to Gridmap and Hirochi Raceway (which is not too fps intensive, guess you could delete some trees there to improve performance).
My PC handles this game pretty well with almost no framerate drops on Normal. OS: Windows 10 Home BUILD 10586.104 CPU: Intel Core i5-2320 @ 3.00GHz RAM: 8.00GB GPU: AMD Radeon HD 5750 1GB VDDR5
