Instead of writing "pls add!" I am writing half decent amount of words Because we now have a half decent tuning menu where you can spend a few minutes of changing stuff and testing for hours I would appreciate a ECU menu that would work like this: You can install an ECU chip in any car and can choose from a few presets ( Like the turbos stage 1 stage 2 Fully adjustable ....) If you choose the Adjustable one you have a new option in the tuning menu Where you have different settings for Fuel Air ratio , Ignition timing and so on. Would be quiet cool because so you could really spend your time in making a perfect car for the game. And because I am not the only Car enthusiast here, other people would like this idea as well Thanks for reading
Interesting, but board-line impossible. Currently BeamNG does not calculate engine power based on fuel mix ratio, compression ratio etc. It only uses a torque curve written in the script, and values for each coefficient. Same for the gearbox, turbo etc
its not worth it. maybe a dyno tuning mini game that lets you tweak it and when your done it spits out a hi res torque curve that the game already can use. beamng does not need to go down the road to accurately simulating fluid dynamics. no fluid dynamics no "real" engine. all we need as a decent approximation.
At the moment, I think the closest we could get with the current engine simulation is nothing more then the ECU tuning in NFSU2 (A picture for anyone that doesn't know what I am talking about)
Automation is also available. It is an engine-building simulator which allows you to pick the material, set each ratio, and the type of fuel to run on. Tune the ratios you want there and copy the torque curve.
I wouldn't really want any kind of minigame in beam, it would make it seem too arcady, maybe if it had the same kind of tuning as SLRR that would be good. Edit: or maybe like IHRA drag racing 2 or whatever that one drag racing game by bethesda was called.
