How many times do you view the devblog a week? I won't criticize you if you do it 3 times a day. (Because i do that) Do you view it for updates or a leisure activity?

You left the "0" out of the poll.
When there's a post in the devblog I can tell because a forum thread is created, too, so I never just go there and check.

Way too often. Ever since that "something is on the horizon" post I've been checking at least 10 times a day. Nothing has ever excited me like that upcoming post so I'm checking every chance I get

Not terribly often, but I wish they'd post SOMETHING there. Really, the "on the horizon" post has taken a month... just a quick blogpost or micro blog post weekly or bi-weekly would be nice.

Back when we had the old forum I usually looked there before checking anything else, but after the forum switch, and it's brief lack of functionality, I pretty much never check it. The fact that it almost never changes doesn't help either, but as DirtGamer301 said, when it does get updated I find out by seeing it's thread in "what's new?", which I check a few times every day...

I feel like the devs have set their bar too high with the devblog. At first, the microblogs worked just fine for what they were intended to do (small little blurbs in the same vein as the devblog, but shorter), but lately it seems like the more and more rare microblogs consist of what used to be screenshot material, and the actual devblog is reserved for press release quality stuff, which isn't what I want from it. I'm happy with pretty much anything as long as I have something new to read once and a while. The old devblog posts about the physics, new features, and brief glimpses of what will come were plenty to keep me occupied for the week or two before the next... I get that they are busy, but they've always been busy with this game, and now they have more manpower. Seems like it wouldn't take much to condense the progress of the last few weeks into about a page worth of text and pictures. I don't need them to reinvent the wheel with each post, I'm just curious what they're tinkering on.

DevBlog is for official communications and 'clean looking' stuff. It takes much more time to make a devblog as we want to show the best we have to offer, as any other company with a devblog.
Screenshot thread is for more official communication and sharing of things that are being worked on but are ready to be shown.
Microblogs are simply our own 'random' things. Things not worthy for devblog/screenshot thread. The 'rough' stuff. This can be done from any of us, quickly.

    Agreed.
    Disagreed.

The game is in alpha/early access: this means most people buy the game not for what it is, but for what it will become. This makes your development blog pretty much your main point of PR/marketing, because that's where you have to show that you have a motivated, involved and caring team of developers, to entrust people that you'll deliver the game they want.

Let's see what's on the dev blog: Mandatory changelogs (which show progress, but not involvement and motivation), the "We're hiring" and "Something is on the horizon post" (no actual content), followed by the latest actual dev blog entry (that contains what people expect from a dev blog): "Vehicle handling overview", from 7 september 2015. That's over six months of inactivity.

I get that you want to post quality content on there, but people interested in buying the game will be looking for posts that show motivation and something to look forward to, which are currently only found in the micro blogs thread. You've set the bar so high you've ended up shooting your own foot.

*What I said above is my point of view of how the devblog is managed/seen as for correction*

What I can tell you and that should be clear IMHO, is that the actual game is our priority.
Making a nice, not boring and interesting blog takes time, and with us working pretty much exclusively on the game, the time to write a new article lacks.
Many resources are being gather for the new actual 'dev-blog post' that has been teased, the guys just need to find some spare time to write it down.

The devblog should be used for weekly microblogs, but I understand that just can't happen with how hard the devs are working on the game. The quality of the game overdoes the quantity of the devblog. The changelogs are great though!
